In May of 2014 I purchased a boat cover from Seal Skin Covers. I actually recieved the cover 3 weeks later in June of 2014. Once I recieved the boat cover I immediately went to make sure that the cover fit and it in fact fit nicely on my boat. It was 3 months later when I noticed some of the seams were coming undone, and since they were small issues I had my wife fix them for me.

The problem only got worse months later. It was a total of 8 months since the day I got the cover to the day it totally fell apart. I contacted Seal Skin shortly after going to see my boat and noticing that the cover was defective. They were receptive and told me that they would send me a return label and after a few more phone calls I did get this return label. This is where things just got worse. I waited over 2 months to finally get my replacement cover shipped to me. The day I got I went to get my boat detailed and ready to be covered. That was a huge mistake, I opened the box and unrolled the cover and soon found out that they did not send the correct cover.

I then started the process again to get a return label sent to me. It took me a week finally get the return label sent to me. I folded the cover and put it back in the box to return to Seal Skin. After weeks of calling and trying to find out when I could get the actual correct cover, I finally got someone to work with me and confirm that she would send out my cover. Yet another 2 months went by sense the delivery of the incorrect cover that was sent to me. Once again the cover was shipped to me and yet once again it was not the correct cover. Now I have spent $800 to get my boat detailed and have gone months without a cover, so you can imagine what my boat looks like without a cover sitting outside in storage. I have asked Seal Skin to simply refund me the money and call it a day.

But I have yet to get anyone to assist me. I have been told that I need to speak to a certain person and I have called asking for that person for 2 weeks now. After multiple emails and phone calls I finally got a call from the manager/owner and all he wanted me to do is give him more information and tell me he does not know how this happened and will call me in 2 days and if he does not call me, for me to call him. Great customer service! So, of course the 2 days have gone by and now again I am having to work to get someone to call me back. I feel that I did not purchase a great product and based on the service I have been given I really feel that I should get my money back and be done with this painful situation. I have been very polite and understanding, but now I feel I am being taken advantage of.

I ordered a cover for my UTV and received a confirmation of order. My credit card was billed and collected then I get another email stating the cover is back orederd for 3 more days. After 3 days no update as to order status so I called. I called and was advised that the back order was extended for another week. I advised that it is not customery to collect monies until product is available and prepared or shipping. I waited another week and still no update. A day later I got an email stating that I had cancelled my order (no refund showed up on my credit card), so I called again. I was told the cover ordered was backordered and they could not tell me when it would be filled. I stated that in Texas, it is considered Credit Card Abuse if monies are collected and no product is provided or mislead on its delivery. I stated I didn't cancell the order either. The customer service representative became condecending and rude. I immediately cancelled the order and asked for an immediate refund pending possible criminal investigation. In 31 years as an investigator in organized crime and a Phd in Sociology, I have found that questionable business operations when confronted with legal action will quickly suffice the complaint, hoping it will go away. My credit card was refunded the next day. Caveat emptor.

Don't Buy Sealskin Covers -You'll Be Sorry

Covers are low quality and don't meet the warranty claims. Colors fade severely in 3 months and they are not waterproof as stated. They aren't even water resistant. Poor customer service just keeps running you in circles. They want $50 to send you a replacement of the same "junk product". I sent them pictures to illustrate what my cover looke like after just two months. Colors fade in the moonlight. Another crappy product from China. Looks great in the box when first opened.

Here's the request that was submitted to Seal Skin Covers . Their response was: NO

Hi - I hope you can help! I'm helping my father wrap gifts and came across a large pkg. It contained your car cover that he bought for his convertible. He's 77 and 'forgets' things and his car was sold over a year ago!

He has absolutely no use for this and $135 is about 10 days of his monthly income, so I'm writing to ask if I can return it for him for a refund?

I opened the large yellow bag, but never removed the inner bag or the cover.

I know this is like 25 days past the return date, but I hope you'll be able to do this for him.

Thanks, and have a great holiday.

Ordered a cover for a listed vehicle 2008 Tomberlin E4. It did not fit. Way to big, like a sack. They said they would exchange so I fell for the scam and returned it.

They then told me that they could not supply a replacement and approved refund. Now they are ghosting me.

Purchased a car cover from them which ended up not fitting and upon examination the felt lining to protect the vehicles paint is so thin as be worthless. Sent in a request for a refund but the company is dragging their feet to delay issuing my refund by trying to offer an exchange that I do NOT want.

I am completely agreeable to their deducting the 20% restock fee but they are still not issuing the refund. They state "SATISFACTION GUARANTEE" on there site and they have the option to use PayPal that gave me the sense of security I would not encounter such sheisty business tactics but definitely not the case.

I purchased two black jet ski covers from Seal Skin Covers on May 6, 2018. This was an online purchase.

I received the products and put them on my skis. They have been garage kept and only been outside about 2 weeks.

One of the jet ski covers is now dark gray and the other is still black. I have only had them a total of 6 weeks.

I contacted them and they will not exchange either one because they "don't warranty against fading".

I do not recommend this car cover. I purchase an outdoor cover for my 2017 Porsche 911. I live in Florida which is there usually lots of sunlight .

I cover the car for a week while I was on vacation . It seems that the car temperature increased when the car was covered . It over heated the inside/ outside of the car it did not protect my car eventually the headlight crack due to overheating of the car while being covered . I contact the company which inform that they would not take responsibility for the claim. The headlight had to be replace for a cost of $ 4,000.

This cover does not protect your car for outdoor . DO NOT BUY COVER FROM THIS COMPANY .

As new boat owners, my husband and I began shopping for covers to protect our boat at the marina and over the winter. I found a website for Seal Skin Covers. The website prominently advertises phrases such as "guaranteed fit", and "hassle free exchanges", and even "easy returns". When I first visited the site, I was offered a live chat with a "knowledgeable product specialist". Yes, I know, it's a lot of quotes so far, but that is exactly what is on the website. I have the screen shots to prove it! I was asked to provide the year and model of the boat. The rep sent a link, which I thought was very convenient, to the exact cover for our boat. It's a cabin cruiser and she explained that the cc in the model stood for cabin cruiser. I also chose a new bimini at the same time, completed checkout with a credit card, and basically felt very pleased with myself. That wasn't so hard! This was early June, the beginning of the season. A couple weeks later the cover arrived. We were so excited that we took it right out to try it on. Not even close. The cover didn't reach the captain's chair, let alone the back of the boat! I got online and searched for the model of boat the knowledgeable rep advised us to order for and it turned out to be a cuddy cabin, not a cabin cruiser...i guess cc doesn't stand for cabin cruiser after all! So, I think, ok, hassle free exchanges...not problem! I immediately contacted the customer service personnel. I filled out a form describing the fit issue (too small and by how much) and asked to exchange the cover. The exchange was approved on June 22 and I printed the label, dropped the package at the UPS location and crossed my fingers. Meanwhile, the bimini arrived. By this time, it has been three weeks from the order date. We opened the box tho put on our new bimini cover and there was absolutely no fabric in the box at all. The metal frame, hardware, and instructions were there, but no cover. Again, I immediately emailed Seal Skin about the problem. I received an apology and they said they'd sent it right out. On July 7 I received an email that the replacement boat cover and missing bimini cover had been shipped. They arrived on July 15. We assembled the bimini and tried it on. It was at least a foot too wide for the boat. Then we tried the cover. It was a no go. STILL too short and it didn't fit over the side rails, which would obviously not keep the weather out. Ugh!! By this time I was pretty disgusted and asked to just return them both for a refund. The bimini ends where they connect to the boat were made of plastic, which would certainly break, and I was just ready to try another company. It had been 5 weeks since the original order, and I just wanted a boat cover and bimini we could use! No problem, right? Easy returns, they said! Nope. Turns out they want a 20% restocking fee on returns. I spent over $500, which means they keep over $100, and I have nothing. I said with they issues, starting with the knowledgeable rep who got the wrong boat from the start, to the bimini cover not being sent, I felt they should waive the fee. That was just not their policy. They were very sorry, but there is no way to do that. The two boxes sat in our kitchen for a week or two while I waited for the free shipping label I was told they'd send. Finally one came to the email. One. Not one for each box, but one. So I put it on the bimini and shipped it out. I requested another one for the cover and asked if I could exchange for another one, since they were unwilling to waive the 20% fee. While I waited for a response I emailed a couple more times trying to resolve the problem. The next email I received was on August -yes, August- 10. It said only "Have you done two exchanges already? Please let us know asap." I was totally taken aback! I responded with a brief explanation of the problem and that I had sent the measurements, along with photos of my actual boat, in the previous email. Today, August 18, I received an email that stated in BOLD PRINT "unfortunately we do not have anything else to send." I have never in my life lodged any sort of complaint against a company. Never. I just find the conduct of Seal Skin Covers so unbelievable. I truly believe they had no intention of following through on their word and the company is sustained by the absurd restocking fee. They get their product back, new and unused, while the customer has nothing in the end. I would appreciate any help you could offer me.

July 10, 2017, I ordered covers for two jet skis. 2 days later I get an email stating that they are not available. I called them since they charged my paypal account. I asked to credit amount immediately. I also told them I was surprised I got charged since it is common business practice to charge account when items ship. They put a request through for refund. 4 days later July 18, 2017, I got an email stating I would receive credit in 3 to 4 business days.

It is now August 8, 2017, and no refund. I contacted Seal Covers again, after 30 minutes on the phone they stated they would put another request through. I requested credit immediately but they stuck to their policy and no supervisor available. I contacted paypal and requested a refund through them as well.

Do not do any business with this company as they are of no help when their mistake. They also have bad business practices and horrible customer service. Wasted additional 2 hours of my time requesting a refund.

This company needs to be reported to the attorney generals office for its repeated deceptive practices. I should have taken the online reviews to heart as they truly are dishonest in their practices. After comparing other companies I decided to try them and ordered a cover even though they were more expensive for my new 2016 Porsche Cayman. I was initially happy when the cover arrived in the estimated amount of delivery time however that quickly changed when I tried to cover my vehicle with it and I could fit two (2) Caymans under it! Disappointed I immediately at that moment called the customer service number on my invoice and the lady said that they had no record of my shipment even though I gave her the tracking and order number from my shipment and invoice. I found this to be very odd as I was holding their paperwork and shipping label in my hand that I had just gotten. She told me on the phone that they would have to do some research and call me back later that day. A week later with no call or email I called them again and I was told that I would need to pay to send it back and that they were going to charge me a 20% fee to return it. I explained that they had sent me the wrong size to begin with and that I request a full refund due to their poor service and lack of follow through. After several emails I finally got a refund but was charged a 20% restocking fee for their mistake and they won't return calls or emails about my request for a full refund. If I had been sent what I ordered and decided to return it I can understand being charged the fee but it appears that this is the way of doing business with this company. Buyer beware for sure with this company.

The cover to get if you only need it for...

a really short time. Got my cover for a poor old 94 vet that had to live outside. tried to save some money found the site SealSkinCovers.com and seemed to me at the time like a good cover for the price. well now only 10 months later the cover has failed, no longer water resistant in any way!!! The material is disintegrating, it is turning to dust, had to take it off as it was making a bigger mess than no cover at all. While they sound like they want to provide some customer service, they do so at a price. Their material has FAILED and they want me to pay a $35 dollar warranty fee, well being a grumpy old man they can go to hell before they get another bloody red cent from me. I will never again settle for some less expensive "MADE IN CHINA" crap, have to get another cover now from an American maker with American Material so did not save any money should have just paid for the right cover from the start, I would not be wasting my time and money now. Hope this helps some other person, would be the only positive side to my poor choice. Good Luck
