They have been charging my bank account without authorization and it's consistant

I am a vietnam combat veteran and unfortunately a senior citizen and i have been scammed! i am a retired firefighter from aurora fire department with a decent retirement and i have a citibank credit card on auto pay in full every month. For some odd reason my computer will not allow me open up my credit card statement each month and at my own fault, i just look at the summary amount and if it looks about right for my spending habit each month, i let it pay and go on with my life.

This month, with the coronavirus hitting my retirement account for $65,000.00 and the credit card bill being over a $1000.00, i decided to check in to my credit card account in depth. After several minutes getting logged on i was shocked to find a recurring charge for $39.95 each month for some outfit called scoresense with an 800 number following it. I called the number to find out what they did and how they got on my credit card account. I immediately told a well rehearsed story of " do i you remember asking for a free credit report a while back? Well after 7 days, if not cancelled, we start charging a fee for our service". I have asked for my credit report a time or two, but never one that mentioned a charge. I was never informed that a charge would be made to my credit card and do not remember ever giving my credit card number to any credit reporting firm! i am sure that if a notice was sent, it was designed to go into the spam folder and i never saw it. I have been charged $39.95 a month for 19 months! for a service that is offered for free from several companies!

I asked for a full refund of all money paid and of course was told that the higher ups would have to make that call, but of course my account would be cancelled and no further charges would occur. I went to the company website and made a request for a full refund on their customer service site, but of course have not heard anything. I will be filing a fraudulent charge claim with my credit card company. i checked with scamion and this has happened to hundreds of people! i have also changed my credit card statement to mailed instead of paperless, so that i see my statements each month! i have learned my lesson. Please check into all the fraudulent charge claims from hundreds of people on the web. Also, most people were being charged $29.95 each month, but i was being charged $39.95. please help. With all that's going on in this world at this time, we don't need companies taking advantage of senior citizens of any person! i can't afford $800.00 for nothing when i didn't ask for the service.

Over a year my now ex-husband used my debit card to pay for his membership. I've been trying to cancel this since February of 2019. They continue to withdraw $39.95 from my bank account, even though I have told them not to because we are no longer married and I don't know how to contact my ex.

I'm on disability and they continue to ignore request. They seem to be ignoring my requests and don't care.

I was offered a credit report over the phone and then saw a withdrawal from my checking account for $29.50. to pay for it.

I have to "cancel" with them by phone or they will make keep withdrawing this amount every month from now on. I will call them tomorrow! ...and I will try to get their actual address then.

Thanks for your assistance in this matter. '

OTL Scoresense signed me to unauthorised membership and took 29.95 a month out of my bank account by debit card number. I do not know how this membership was created and was not authorized.

I've disputed did with capital one and they put the 39 95 back in to my account when I called to cancel this description I did not subscribe to. Then received a letter stating capital 1 was going to reinstate the bill of 39.95 a month. I'm disabled and on a fix income and can't afford this anyway even though I didn't want this account.

  • May 11, 2018

Being a Senior Citizen, I watch my checking account on a daily basis. I was charged $39.95 on May 10, 2018 without my authorization. I do not know who this company is and did an internet search and found they are a credit watch company from Dallas Texas. Phone number: 800-972-7204. I've alerted my bank and will be calling them today but I'm sure they will give me a song and dance and I won't get the money back. Rip off! They claim I have a membership from "America's Most trusted credit, identity and Family solutions." I do not have a membership nor would I want one!

  • Mar 28, 2018

When checking my card statement I discovered OTL Score Sense tried to do a withdrawal from my account that I did not authorize. I have never heard of this company, I called the number on my statement and was told they couldn't find an account under my name. They then wanted me to give them my bank information, which I did not do. I find it very interesting that they couldn't find an account with my name and wanted my bank information when evidently they already have it since they tried to make a withdrawal from my account.

The rep stated she had noted my account to be cancelled before the free trial to avoid any charges to my account yet this NEVER happened. I also explained to her that their services are NOT needed as I already get BETTER credit monitioring and repair through my credit cards and bank. She then made another promise she would not keep and told me that they are the best at getting errors removed quickly and that my score could be increased before the free trial ended and that it would NOT hurt anything to see since I wouldn't be charged. She said," why not?? " I reluctantly agreed but she had to reassure me several times that it would be cancelled before the end of the trial to avoid being charged for the membership. At the time I didn't know that you can't cancel your mememember online either which is probably why she stated she noted my account and if she had done as promised I would have thought she saved me the Hassel of calling them again during their business hours but she DID NOT! I was charged $29.99 for a membership that does NOT benefit me whatsoever. They actually are hurting me not helping by their UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE & broken promises. I am seriously worried about them having all of my information since they obviously are morally corrupt and have no issues lying & stealing. That is exactly what they were supposed to prevent yet they are the ones who did it. And they say that it is unwise to cancel because it will open you up to theft??? Actually it is UNWISE to EVEN TRY because they are LYING THEIVES.. I have wrote several posts hoping to get this reversed but I am not very confident IN ANYTHING THEY SAY OR DO. I stated in my posts that I wanted EVERYTHING CANCELLED as it was SUPPOSED to already have been, an IMMEDIATE REFUND & ALL of MY PERSONAL INFORMATION PERMANENTLY DELETED FROM their database & CONFIRMED since they are UNETHICAL & UNTRUSTWORTHY.

This company is charging me 39.95 for some sort of credit monitoring service which I never authorized. Crazy, its been going on for months but I just caught it and noticed other complaints too!

They ask you a whole bunch of questions when you call them to make it appear that you some howsigned up at one time for a dollar or that someone else used your card. Nonsense!

Parasites they are!

  • Mar 5, 2018

They offered credit report for 1 dollar .. now they are charging my account 39.95 a month ...i did not give my consent

  • Feb 5, 2018

7 day free trial means nothing! When you go to cancel they tell you "oh sorry, you were already billed for the month”. You should have canceled earlier today. But we will put a refund request in for you. I am going to disput the charge with my bank and see if there is anything that can be done by them. HUGE RIP OFF!

  • Feb 2, 2018

I do not know what this is not do i use this company or get any mail or reports from them but they are charging my debit card 39.95 a month.

  • Jan 23, 2018

I paid a simple $1 fee to both companies for my trial on credit score. Yet neither give the option of the cancellation of my subscription! Tech support is useless and always "unavailable" . Screwing up my credit card, and won't turn my subscription off. Husband needs a lot of financial help and this is doing nothing but hurting us!

  • Jan 22, 2018

I recall almost a year ago searching the web for a car loan. I somehow was directed to score sense. They charged a $1. and I didnt' realize that I was agreeing to a monthly fee $39.95. This was not obvious and easy to miss. I went back to the site and found that anyone paying the $1 would miss this.

I saw the charge on my checking account last week and when I called to find out about the charge found out that they had bill 11 months at $39.95.

I asked them to cancel and give me a full refund. He would not even provide me with the name of the person that could assist me.

To whom it may concern, my name is Sarah Roberts and score scene contacted me about 5 months ago with promises to lower my credit score and help me get into a rent to own home. Since then, my score has dropped almost 200 points and I have no email or proof that they have done anything to help me besides take 40.00 dollars from my bank account every month. Please help, I would love to see at least 3 months of payments back but will settle for anything. Thank u in advance, Sarah Roberts

I saw a charge on my credit card for OTL*SCORESENSE.com for $39.95 which I didn't sign up for. I contacted my Credit Card (CC) company and they found the same charge against my October bill along with another charge of $1.00. My CC company refunded the 2 $39.95 charges and the $1.00 charge and had me change my CC number to a new one, causing a lot of work on my end.

  • Oct 30, 2017

I wanted what I was given to understand was a one-time look at my credit scores; I logged on and got them. Then 15 minutes ago I checked my bank balance, and they'd ripped me around $40 for a membership, which I did not want. I called and complained. I was told they'll issue a decision as to what they'll do. I demanded a refund, and I'm pretty pissed off about the overdraft fee the bank will charge, too! I'm a disabled senior citizen, and I can't afford an extra nickel taken out of my checking account. I live on Social Security and nothing else.

  • Oct 14, 2017

Before I noticed the charge on my credit card statement for $ 39.95, I never knew or heard about this website. This charge was never authorized or neither, I had'nt visited that website, or contacted by phone, because simply, I never knew about these thieves.

  • Sep 6, 2017

It took about 4 months and several callsbefore my money was refunded. Used again in March. Called and cancelled within the time limit. At the same time Ispoke to my bank and the charge was deleted from my account. In April I called Score sense & they assured me the account was cancelled, however I then heard from my bank that they had investigated the charge and Score Sense said the account was not cancelled until my check up call in April, so they could not credit my account because Score Sense did not eliminate the charge. I have called Score Sense but they did not Barbara

Called and canceled during free trial (offered to show phone record). NEVER ONCE USED THE SERVICE! Find out they have charged my card for 6 months without my permission. Filed BBB report after they refused to issue refund. Save yourself the hassle, headache and from them stealing! Stay far away!

i was checking my email and came across one warning consumers about being scammed and ripped off. This company score sense advertised and suggested sign up for free for 7 days no charge if cancelled within 7 days.

I was able to print off 1 report before site froze and i was not able to log back in. I called my credit card company right away and apparently this company did charge me a dollar. I cancelled right away. These companies need to be charged with a crime. lesson learned if something says free and then wants your information STOP

  • Jun 22, 2017

Charged me a dollar first so I could go to a tent to own site. Then less than a week later they charged me 39.95

  • Jun 13, 2017

On 13th May 2017 I responded to an Internet Advertisement for a $1 credit report inclusive of a five day membership in their credit bureau plus identity theft service bureau. I immediately got the credit report, and then cancelled my membership on-line as soon as I got the report, BECAUSE they did require my credit card authority which I gave for the advertised credit report inclusive of the membership.

However, upon getting my credit card charges in the mail 28 days later, I found that not only was the $1 charged, but also $39.95 for a months continuing membership, indefinitely authorized.

I called the company at 800 679 6327 as listed on my credit card charge sheet. They answered that I did not cancel out, and would gladly refund the $1. However, the $39.95 was unlikely to be refunded. They did send me an official 'cancellation e-mail' however on the same day 6/12/2017.

There were some irregularities during that telephone call. They did not allow me to enter my "membership ID" but rather insisted on my FULL social security number. I had just prior to that telephone call, pulled up the site on the internet, and used my site e-mail address and password WHICH DID NOT WORK. I then tried to use the password reset, which asked the security question "what city were you born in" for which I gave the proper city and THAT WAS REJECTED.

After my phone call, I investigated this company on YELP, and found it uniformly full of negative reports, excepting for the first two which clearly were company trolls with a totally favorable report. I also found that another rating service "www.complaintsboard.com" had equally uniformly negative reports. I also found out that this company actually operates out of Puerto Rico, with phones forwarded to a Dallas Texas address, yet is doing business as if it really was a US company.

Looking at the advertising page of the company on the internet in which OMINOUS wording is used:

"....Sometimes, people who have signed up for a free trial of SCORESENSE cancel once they've received their initial SCORESENSE credit report. However, this can be a foolish move.....you may be opening yourself up to identity theft....data breach can be costly...personal information such as social security number...bank accts... credit cards..."

YES, since THEY NOW HAVE MY INFORMATION !!!! In fact this advertising copy so intimidated me, that I placed a FRAUD alert on my existing Equifax Credit Service account.

  • Feb 2, 2017

My account has been charged more than 6 times at 39.95 I called 4 months ago and was told it was cancelled but no refund issued because I did not know the username and password for the account i didnt make. The bank recently called and my account is almost $200 negative and they froze my kids accounts. I demanded a full refund and have not heard back. I speak to someone different every time and all emails are no reply. Yes they have my debit card number but security questions and my address do mot match their records.

  • Jan 19, 2017

This company claimed they would advise before billing for a continuing memborship.. They did do not this, but collected the first month on debit card submittal used for the guaranty of a monthly payment. After complaining by email, they then subsequentially billed for a second month. I still have no assurance that they will not continue this dishonest behavior.

  • Jan 1, 2017

First of all,i have never heard of ScoreSense until it showed up on a bank statement for $39.95 . Then I started to research the company and found out they do credit reports for $39.95 a month for a membership.fee. Didn't know anyone charged for something that is free ALWAYS at c***** k****. I have disputed with bank and will keep you updated on the outcome. It seems this company already has over 1000 complaints. I can't seem to opt out as I never signed up however I did indicate below that I used. Credit card but I did not but it was charged

My wife was trying for a loan online. A man called her and stated that before she could take out a loan she should get a credit report, and for $1.oo scoresense would do it and refund the $1.00 when done. Useing my work debit card she did that. The $1.00 was returnned. Almost 1 month later $45.96 was taken off my debit card with no knowledge and with out my permission. Contacting my bank to inquire where the money had gone, I was told that Scoresense took the money from my card and given the number to call them. Apond calling they informed me yes they took $1.00 and refunded $1.00. But knew nothing about $45.96 that their monthly membership was $39.99, and no one from their company would call . But yet when I gave them my name for refrence they stated yes we have your membership yes you can cancel if you want. They couldn't understand that I never applied or purchased or even knew who they were to become a member. And $39.99 sure comes to about $45.96 after tax. They knew nothing about the money. My bank says they took it they say no they didn't. Where is my money?

  • Aug 1, 2016

I signed up for the $1 credit service and have tried to cancel numerous times, but they don't answer the phone. I am always on hold, or hung up on. They have charged my card and it looks as of I will have to just cancel it. They are a complete rip off!!

  • Jul 6, 2016

Here is how their scam works. First off, they have a number of loan websites. When you file an application for a loam from one of these, they redirect you to a page that will give you your creditscore for $1. You get the score and file your credit application which is of course turned down. Oddly, you will never recieve a letter stating the reasons why you were denied.

One year later you will find a charge on your credit card for $39.95. If you dispute it with your credit card company you will discover that you "subscribed" to their service and you have to get ScoreSense to stop charging you. Or, you can candel your credit card.

I have never seen a company with more internet complaints against it than ScoreSense. Another clue: GOOGLE their physical address: 4447 North Central Expressway

Suite 110 PMB 406, Dallas, Texas 75205

"PMB" is your first clue. It stands for "Private Mail Box." Google just the first part and you find that the building is a suite in which a UPS Store (formerly Mail Boxes Etc.) is operating. The "PMB 406" is the mailbox that ScoreSense rents at the UPS Store. This is another sign that you are dealing with scammers.

Lastly, notice the rebuttles from the company on the numerous complaints here. It's the same "cut and paste" answer every time.

Scoresense, without my authorization has been charging me $ 29.99 monthly, for a service I nerver signed for. I found out through my Bank and called them instantly to deman a refund ASAP. the lady told she will process my request and I should hear from them in two business day. Two days later I received an email saying I will be refunded only $1, because I made my request after the communicated billing date. I will like to report this company as a scam and `I`m willing to participate in any class action against them.

I had signed up with ScoreSense after I was a victim of identity theft. I now have credit cards that offer free credit monitoring. For one ScoreSense does NOT offer you, your true FICO score. They basically give you an estimate which was always wrong. I went to by a car and my credit score was much much lower than what ScoreSense was reporting. I decided to cancel my account since I have credit monitoring through a credit card and it also shows my actual FICO score.

My first attempt at canceling my account took at least 20 minutes due to all the rebultles they use. Ive recently become ill and have not been on top of things like I usually am. I notice that I am still being charged monthly for ScoreSense even though I cancelled my account over a year ago. I called today and told them they have been charging me for over a year and the lady went straight to the rebutles trying to keep me. I haven't used it in a year nor do I need it. I asked her repeatedly to cancel me that I do NOT want this service. She kept going.........then I got upset because I am sick and do not need this. I yelled take me off now or give me to a supervisor!

Guess Ill see next month if it worked. Im sure they have no intentions on crediting me for a whole year.

USELESS SERVICE DO NOT BUY!

  • Apr 7, 2016

Score sense has charged my acct. 39.99 for four months for a service I never heard of or wanted. They some how found my social security number and account number. I finally figured out I was short on my monthly deposit. When I checked the debit it was score sense and the telephone number they provided was not in service. I am completely baffled. I don't understand how this company that has been sued previous times before can still do business. They internally screw people. How do they sleep at night?

  • Feb 4, 2016

THE FIRST TIME I SAW TAKEN OUT OF MY ACOUNT I CALLED AND ASKED WHAT IT WAS AND TOLD THEM TO STOP. THEY ASSURED ME IT WOULD BE. I FOOLISHLY BELIEVED THEM. NOW, GOING THROUGH MY BILLINGS AND CUTTING BACK I SEE THIS CHARGE AND CALL NOT EVen REMEmBERING SINCE IT HAS BEEN SO LONG AGO. hOWEVER, I DO REMEMBER CANCELLING. i am pretty frugal and do not spend money on these services.Today i called again after seeing this charge of 29.95. to find out its been for 10 months now.

i asked the friendly guy what type of service is this and he proceede to tell me how great it is and they alert me when there is any freud activity, identity alert. I interrrupted him and said "Are you serious? you are telling me if i have any identity theft going onyou would contact/alert me? well let me ask you , if you have been charging me for a service then where were you when my complete identity was stolen 5 months ago ? where were your so-called alerts when the person was opening up new accounts, buying a car, renting a condo, even going o the emergency room under my identity!!MB if i wouldnt be be going through this crisis if you were such a great service! Wha t a scam, a joke, and they should have legal action against them. infact i am seriously thinking about it right now i am so pissed. Because i doubt i will even get my money back from them for a service of non existance. please post and pursueto extreem.

  • Jan 5, 2016

This might be a whole new rip off technique. I cancell my account with Scoresense.com. Then after while, I notice the billings haven't stopped. So I call up the service numbers, both of them answered by hispanic women with kids screaming in the background (kind of suspicious right there). The first kept me on hold for 19 minutes untill I hang up. The second could not locate my account on her computer. Apparently I no longer existed in their computer even though they were still billing me!!! I complained to my credit card co. We will have to see what happens. Don't use scoresense.

  • Dec 3, 2015

Scoresense offers your credit score for $1. Then, they illegally used my credit card to repeatedly charge my account 29.95 a month. I called and cancelled, but like always they don't want to refund the money. These agencies are a total scam and worthless. They keep taking money without permission. They don't tell you it's a trial offer in big letters, everything is tiny. It's the bait and switch tactic their using and trying to get away with. It's unethical and should be outright illegal to do so. They even bounced my checking account because they took money out that wasn't there. I'm a single mom. I can't afford money to be stolen from me.

  • Nov 26, 2015

I used this company because they offered a credit check service for a $1 for 7 free days ,then to become a member for $39.95 after the 7 free days

i was going to cancel but forgot , but on the sixth day they billed me $ 39.95 and thought d**n i meant to cancel that , but i looked at the days and it had only been 6 days so i imediatley called them to cancel and tell them they billed me early , well after a 20 minute sales effort by thier employee as to why i shouldnt cancel i did anyway , and he said they would re fund my money in .3-5 days

well they refunded me a $1

then i emailed them back that they owed me $39.95 not the original $1 , and they emailed me back saying that it was passed the 7 days and they would not refund me , but they refunded the original $ 1

how does that make any sense ??

stay away from Score sense ,they are a RIP OFF !!!!!

  • Nov 14, 2015
