July 2015, I bought a bottle of vitamins- Supreme Garcinia.

I was automatically billed for $17.95/month for Savings Store and $17.95/month for Holiday Store.

According to the rep at Savings Store, I was given a free 14 day trial; after which, I agreed to be autimatically billed $17.95 monthly for both Savings Store and Holiday Store until I cancelled by telephone.

On enquiry, the reps refused to play the recording where I allegedly agreed to these terms. Supervisor offered me 1/2 of monies taken. So far, I have been scammed $143.60.

There was no meeting of the mind. I received no written contract. I did not sign any contract. I did not use services or make any online purchases from either store.

Buyer Beware: There is no end date to these contracts and subsequent payments to your credit card.

This business says they offer refunds on ALL of a families everyday shopping. You have to be a member and have to pay a monthly membership fee after which you can then mail in original receipts from the various shopping categories and they will refund you 10% of the total amounts up to $100 per category and a total of $500 for all category each month. Additionally when you sign up they offer you $100 in free gas coupons!

Sound great doesn’t it BUT it doesn’t work that way

First and foremost they do not clearly list all the “ rules” they have for your submissions to be eligible ! Secondly they changed the submission rule frequently and members do not receive any clear notice of these changes anywhere – you only get told after you call to find out where your rebate is from the last submission that hasn’t come to you yet and you get told that your last submitted pile of receipts has been rejected because now they don’t qualify under the new rules ! Thirdly - they have no communications procedures for their members - They don’t tell you your submission has been rejected unless you call them

They require original receipt- understandable –But they will not return receipts that a consumer requires for warranty purposes so either you hope that warranty company will accept a photocopy or you can’t send in any receipt from a product that requires receipt for warranty purposes – Ie-new TV etc,

SO there your first “got you” – cant really save on all the family spending because cant get back receipts if requested!

Secondly they use to have a limit of 4 cards that they allowed a family to use for purchases for the acceptable rebate receipts –one of which had to be the membership payment card on file – so in a family where there are two adults both with a single debit card and a single credit card as long as you used one of the credit cards for the membership fees you could submit payment receipts from all four cards . This was a reasonable approach since their isn’t a single family anywhere in the world that use just one card to pay for everything unless they are millionaires and then they are not looking for ways to save on family everyday spending! So for my family since I used a virtual prepaid card for the on line membership fee payments which is a card that cant be used for everyday purchasing - I was able to only use 3 cards of 8 cards my husband and have [ two different bank debit cards each and a master card and visa card each ] but I dealt with taking the extra time organizing each submission to make sure that only three were submitted – Again can’t really save on all the family spending because they severely limit what cards used by the family. Easy enough solved –all they had to do was securely list the numbers of the 4 cards of choice to the members account ie Visa 402xxxxxx210 Now yet again they have change the rules again without any notification – they now only will accept receipts paid for by the credit card or Visa Debit card on file that pays the memberships fees so in a case where people want to protect themselves and use virtual debits only or prepaid online cards there is no way for them to submit receipt from everyday spending. They also have totally disallowed all cash receipts – so if I go to the same gas station all month and pay for my gas 4 times with a credit card but use cash once I can’t claim that cash receipt despite the fact it is the same location as the other four were and purchase a week later!@ Finally if you submitted sufficient acceptable receipt for $100 rebate but for whatever reason they reject one receipt then the member receive only the rebate for the next lower level –ie $50 etc and loses the value of all the other receipts in between! Again can’t really save on all the family spending because they can change the rules whenever they wish too without properly informing members and so submissions get rejected. They claim that they have had to keep changing rules to make the system better and to prevent abuse but they have not properly informed any of their membership when they make the changes nor do they seem to consider logical common sense options to make the program do what is supposed to do – help Canadian family’s get a small rebate on everyday spending ! Finally in closing –I never did ever receive that $100 in free gas coupons I was promised when I initially signed up for a membership despite asking repeatedly for help to do so!
