SAS Automotive Reviews

  • Feb 5, 2019

RIPPED ME OFF TO THE TUNE OF $600+. I'd give NEGATIVE STARS if I could. But, yes, the auto shop that "GUARANTEES ... to provide the highest customer satisfaction" and "specializes in ... audi ..." charged me $600 for a repair that did not even begin to fix the problem for which I brought my vehicle to them. THEN to exacerbate matters, Paul tells me that SAS Automotive now believes I need to replace a $1200 part (alarm module) to fix it. WOW. JUST WOW.

I don't even know where to begin and in fact, I've had my vehicle back for weeks now and didn't know what to write in this review. SAS Automotive left me speechless because I could not find the words to describe how they TOTALLY and COMPLETELY RIPPED ME OFF. I asked Paul if he could give me a discount and he told me that he didn't have any room to do so.

Brought my vehicle in because the alarm kept going off. After SAS assessed it, they called me to say that my car needed a driver's side door lock/latch and it would cost $600. The car is a 2001 Audi, but I love it because it's a fun little car to drive and I had just had the brakes done elsewhere, so there weren't any other issues other than the alarm going off. So, I said yes to the repair believing and relying SAS Auto's expertise and touting themselves as specialists on European vehicles, and specifically Audi (they have a YouTube video claiming this!), to fix the problem once and for all. BOY WAS I WRONG!!

When I picked up my vehicle, I asked Paul why did they fix just the door latch/lock and not check on the alarm module (even with my not knowing about cars, if the alarm is going off, would you not check the alarm itself??!!)? Paul insisted that they kept getting an error code for the door lock and I guess, in the world of auto repair, you don't go beyond that especially if you can RIP OFF your customer for a $600 UNNECESSARY REPAIR, then hit them with a $1200+ estimate for a repair that would probably fix the problem. And of course, as mentioned above, Paul couldn't give me a discount because he didn't have any "room" to do so even though the diagnostic was $114. WHY AM I PAYING FOR A DIAGNOSTIC THAT CLEARLY RESULTED IN AN UNNECESSARY REPAIR??!!

Suffice it to say, I'm never coming back here and I definitely urge others to go elsewhere. This is clearly a case of BUYER BEWARE.
