HORRIBLE experience at Levare (Santana Row). My wife and I were at first very impressed by the 3 properties Levare, Misora, and Santana Heights which are all managed by the same leasing office located on Olin Ave.
We were shown several units at Levare and were told that a unit "just like" the one that we we viewed would be available on June 7, 2017. After signing paperwork, getting approved, and moving all of our furniture out of our previous residence, we were ready to move in and given the keys to our new apt. This is where the nightmare began..
1. The apartment looked nothing like the unit that we were originally shown. No balcony, the ceiling height was lower, carpet was a different color (an ugly olive color), and the cabinets were not as modern as the demo. TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH! After voicing our concerns, Michael who is one of the property managers said there is nothing he could do and "we were getting a good deal on the apartment so it shouldn't matter" - this is the most unprofessional statement I've every heard come out of a property manager's mouth. We had already purchased furniture to match the apartment which we thought we were moving into - so this was a huge upset.
2. We were told that we could invite up to 2 guests per household into the common areas (lounge, pool, business center, etc.) - ANOTHER LIE. We asked several of the team members in the leasing office (will mention names later) who assure us that this would be ok before we moved in. My wife and I have been living here less than a week and already we're being harassed by the staff. Do not sign a lease here unless you want to be embarrassed by the staff in front of your friends, family, or colleagues when they tell them they need to leave the property because of their "2 person per unit guest limit".
3. We requested a 3rd property access key for our nanny as we have a 6 month old baby who needs to be able to get in and out, take our baby on walks, and be able to have access in emergency situations. The leasing office denied us the access key even after I agreed to pay for an extra key and I would bring our nanny into the office to verify it was for her. Keep in mind, this is not an actual "key" to our apartment, just a card to access the property. Expect that any request that you make will be shut down immediately - even after all of the lies that you'll be told!
4. The people in the leasing office are polite at first but then get rude when issues arise - if they hate their miserable lives/jobs that much then they should be doing something else. They will badger you about everything and will deny promises that were previously made after a contract is signed. There are a few nice and professional people with the company who I'll mention later when I update this review, but overall I would not recommend moving to any of their properties at Levare, Misora, or Santana Heights. I have contacted Greystar's corporate office directly in an attempt to resolve the issues I've experienced during my first week of living here. I will share the outcome of my experience once I hear back from them as well.
In conclusion, I've had a horrible experience so far and have not been treated well at the property. If I had the time to terminate my lease early and find a better community, I would in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, with a company and 6 month old, this will have to wait until I have more time on my hands - could be sooner rather than later.
