Dee Tennant and her son Brian Tennant are the owners of Santana Formal Accessories. The company is engaged in the manufacturing of apparel (cut and sew) and claims to have clients such as Disney, Men's Warehouse, Marriott Hotels, among other known brands.
The first and most important issue with Santana Formal Accessories is that they are not licensed by the CA Department of Labor or the Department of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE). It is a misdemeanor in the State of California to operate an apparel factory without proper licensing. In addition, they have not passed the Los Angeles County Public Heath inspection. The law states that any company found manufacturing their goods with an unlicensed (undergroud) apparel factory is jointly guilt and jointly responsible for all fines and penalties (which can be extremely and extraordinarily expensive).
Second issue with Dee and Brian Tennant is that they are deadbeat tenants (no pun intended, its just their name). They have been leasing factory space throughout the City of San Fernando and not paying any rent to landlords. In the course of three years they have been evicted from at least 3 locations all for the same reason - not paying rent. As of this report, they are in the final stages of eviction in their latest location on Arroyo Street.
If you are an apparel brand, please do not hire Santana Formal Accessories, as you may also be found guilty under California law for hiring an unlicensed (underground) factory.
