I signed a contraction 2017 and told them I was putting up my house for sale. No one bothered to tell me that this was going to cost me hundreds of dollars. I have signed both times o moves. So in Section 5, it claims that I agreed to renewing service every time I moved upon "a verbal agreement" that I can guarantee you was never had. In other words, July of last year I signed for not three years BUT FIVE years bc I trusted them not to scam me and I did not read the fine print. Shady people working there and I will find a way to get in touch w Lester Jackson to inform him of his company's shady business practices. They are a reputable company and if the CEO knew that their employees were scamming his customers to make a quick buck, I don't think. that he would be happy.
I would have cancelled service upon my move bc i live in a gated community but then they told me i had to pay the remaining amount of months and a penalty. Instead they signed me for five more years. So that saleman is getting paid off of this and using it as a sale.
SafeTouch is a scam. Their 45 second response time starts when their dispatcher sees your alarm, NOT when your alarm goes off. So if there are other alarms and yours doesn’t get seen right away, then oh well, “it’s in your contract.” That goes for their 2-way communicator, too.
Dropped after 45 seconds, whether or not the alarm has been seen. They’ll blame you, your phone line, the Ghost of Christmas Past, and everything else in the world — including telling you flat out lies — so they don’t have to admit how their response time actually works. Your contract spells everything out in legalese that some attorneys can’t even understand and is rock solid... in SafeTouch’s favor, of course.
You will NEVER be able to get out from underneath it, the BBB won’t help you because of it, and a court case will never see the inside of a courtroom if you try to go that route. You’re better off buying a gun and a rocking chair — it would be the only thing you could do to protect your house after putting a SafeTouch system in it.
Safetouch Security is taking advantage of the elderly. Three years ago I signed up for their services. I also signed a statement that I must cancel the service after three years for which I paid over $1300.00 for or it would automaticaly renew at a much higher price per month. I admit thay I signed the agreement but I am 70 years old and very forgetful as most of us are. This is what Lester Jackson and Safe Touch are counting on. I called five (5) days to late to cancel. I now have got to pay $45.00 per month for two more years for the $20.00 per month service.
Seniors be very careful of what you sign when dealing with this company.
