I had my windshield replaced 4 months ago. A couple days ago I woke up and my windshield had a crack in it that started at the edge of the window. I called them up and had a tech come to my house to fix the windshield as it's under warranty.
I read online that a lot of people have had problems with Safelite so I should have expected what he did. He went to the crack and said that it looks like a rock hit it. (there is no rock mark) I finally got him to say it wasn't a rock mark. He then went on to say it looks like I used window repair gel on it.
I don't even know where to buy that stuff nor how to use it. He then called his supervisor and told him that. These were just all excuses as the guy looked like he didn't even want to be here in the first place. He just kept complaining it was hot and wanted a day off.
Do not ever use this company if you want to have the same experience I had. I also found out that my windshield cracked as they use cheap Chinese windshields. It's supposed to be like the windshield when you bought the car. But they use cheap Chinese glass to make sure you have to keep using them to repair it.
They rarely honor their warranties. Please do me and yourself a favor and don't get ripped off by using a company such as this.
Wasted three weeks of time without a vehicle due to a misrepresentation. Failed to replace a windshield after three weeks. Caused me to lose wages and useless repairs totalling about a thousand dollars. The shop manager and an installer lied to me face to face.
I had to make three trips to the physical facility trying to fix their appointment mistakes. No one there took any responsibility for anything at all. None of the individuals can be reached on the phone. I have rarely been treated so fraudulently in my life. I would never recomment safelite to anyone but my worst enemy.
