Safelite AutoGlass Reviews

Franchise manager Chad is a liar, a complete piece of garbage, and he treated me like garbage. I confirmed my appointment and was told that they had my OEM glass already in stock two weeks prior to my appointment. I confirmed this twice by phone, and once in person.

Fast forward to today and I drive 50 miles to safelite only to be greeted by chad telling me that he doesn’t have the glass. I said “you have two numbers on the work order. You couldn’t have called me to let me know any time in the last two weeks? I would have understood and rescheduled if you had just given me the courtesy of a phone call.”

Chad responded by saying “he doesn’t need to call customers about every little thing.” GUESS WHAT, THIS ISN’T A LITTLE THING. I then got upset (and understandably so) and Chad cursed at me, said he doesn’t need my business and told me to leave.

If you have a nice car (I have a Mercedes), I would not trust this safelite location. If a manager can treat a customer this way, I can only imagine the quality of their work. HEED THIS WARNING. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. This shop does not care about you, your business, or your car!

Thank you for completely wasting my time. Will be reporting this dealer AND CHAD to corporate and geico.

I needed a windshield replaced through my insurance. The tech was late and had to wait for another tech to arrive with the actual glass. The tech asked me to sign, I asked what it was and he said it was an authorization to do the work. No big deal. They got the windshield changed, gave my receipt and left. I started looking at the receipt and there was a preinspection report that was basically all B.S. so I figured I should probably go actually look at my truck. Windshield looked great. I open my truck and find scrapes and gouges across my dashboard. There was some sort of white stuff on my dash, the weather strip and splattered all over my hood. There was old sealant that was not cleaned up as well as some that was still wet. I got it on my skin and it started burning. I contacted my insurance to file a complaint and they connected me with "Executive Services" which was just a call center.

They couldn't tell me how to get this sealant off my skin and couldn't provided me with an MSDS sheet for the product. The Executive Services said they would have the local shop manager call me first thing in the morning as they were currently closed. Ok I can calm down before I talk to this person. About 1130 I contacted my insurance company again, who once again connected me to this call center who connected me to the local store. The manager was out but the counter person asked me to text her my pictures and she would have him contact me as soon as he got in. No phone call but she texted me at 1630 saying he had gotten busy and would call me first thing this morning. 1300 rolled around and I called Safelite directly, they connected me to the manager of the local shop. After all but calling me a liar, saying I had signed off on the inspection (which I never did) and all the damage was old and the tech had all these pictures (they were actually my photos as the tech took 2 which I didn't dispute). I asked why he didn't call me like I was told he would and was told he didn't know why, he just didn't. He told me there was nothing they were going to do as the tech said it was all old damage. The wet adhesive and old scrapings were apparently my imagination. So once again I called Executive Services who told me they would note my complaint but there was nothing they could really do as the manager would need to actually come see the vehicle. The manager had already said he was too busy for that and it would be sometime next week at the earliest. It's a holiday weekend and I'm traveling. I'm not leaving a disgusting mess in my truck. So here I am, I have to clean up their mess and repair the damage they caused. No resolution other than an apology from the call center.

Safelight installed a new windshield on my 2011 Scion TC. Following day when the tape was removed there was a rippling across the top of the molding on the drivers side. Called them and asked them to return to fix it. After 3 appointments they did not resolve the issue. They told me that it was the best they could do and that it looked like it did because the molding was not OEM. I have seen and had others car windshields replaced and they looked perfectly fine but they would not do anything to fix mine. They told me to put the car in the sun and let the heat flatten it out. I did and it was no better. I take great pride in the way my car looks and now everytime I look at it I see the crappy job they did and it drives me crazy. They got their money and they don't care that my car looks like crap. I have gone to social media and posted picures of what they did and contacted the B.A.R. and filed a complaint against the company. I have not heard anything else from them, I even sent an email to the president of the company informing him of the issue. No response.

Had our windshield replaced got it home and the paint was all scratched up and they took off the light bar and it hadn't worked since and black sealer all over our paint around window and left it there.. said they would fix it at there garage they had do there work for 200 we went to our garage we wanted to fix it they gave us a estimate one for 1100 and they said they never seen a worst job ever .. and they won't pay because they want there garage to do the work or go get a estimate for around there price to our local garages that isn't no good in body work .. never gave us anything and we our stuck with this scratched jeep and a light bar that don't work that we paid 375 for and black seal all over are window shield I can only animation what kind of work there garage does and I will not do that they could have gave half of the money for our estimate but I still feel it's there fault they should pay where we want it fixed being they are on insurance company list to do windshield replacement our company is on there side .. as long as they fix it and we disagreed totally..

The technician called me to meet him at my home, so I left work.He showed up and said he couldn't replace the window because of a couple of small rust spots.

I live in Michigan and that is common. The company and tech never asked me about this before wasting my time, and never gave me any other options. The technician proceeded to take images inside my garage without my permission. Totally bad service.

He argued with me the entire time.

I have spent the last week setting this appointment up, and they have spammed my phone and email with appointment reminders and sale advertisements with no policies about why they wouldn't replace the window.Terrible service by the technician and the company.

I filed a claim with my insurance to fix my broken windshield and after two appointments Safelite did come replace the glass. I was on holiday do I didn't really drive my car much for the next two weeks. When I went back to work I noticed firstly that my windshield had a strange look at the bottom, kind of convex, but I just figured it was a replacement windshield and i would just have to get used to it. I'm such a girl. I had also realized that a furry intruder had taken up residence in my vehicle.

After many, many empty traps and several weeks of trying I finally decided the critter had won and I would let the repair shop find it, remove it and repair what damage had been done. While waiting for the tow truck I began inspecting the vehicle. I first noticed that my windshield was off center. The weather stripping material was about an inch wide on the drivers side and only an eighth of an inch wide on the passenger side. After inspecting further I noticed that the "cowl" vent (not sure that's spelled correctly) was lifted about a finger width high and 6-8 inches wide along the drivers side of the windshield. This apparently had been left exposed by the installer 4 weeks earlier.

The dealer has since tore my vehicle apart, granted this is a 2012 minivan. The carpets are ruined, rat has caused damage to several components. The a/c line was chewed the "cowl" drain chewed open at the top elbow which I thought odd. I took photos of the opening as well as the repair shop. I made a warranty appt to have the centering issue inspected as well as the rat door that was left open.

The Safelite tech showed up 3 days later, having a fowl attitude and wearing headphones the whole time, which is what I was told by the repair shop. I called several days later when I never heard an outcome and was told that the repair shop said the rat damage had nothing to do with Safelite, what about the windshield issues? I called and made a second appt to address these problems, which ended up being several days later. I was told by the repair shop tech that tore my car apart, that it was very probable that the rodent entered through the exposed vent area which then gained access via the drain, which explains the chewed pipe.

The day of the appt I had planned to be there to hear what each party had to say so I wouldn't have all the hearsay. I never received a call to specify my appt time. When I called for it I was then notified that my appt had been cancelled. I was told several different stories until I received the manager which told me he cancelled it on the day I scheduled it. By the way they never notified me of this. He told me that it was a ridiculous accusation and a rat could never have gotten in through the windshield. Well no crap! He was adimant that Safelite was not responsible for any of it. I asked for a meeting with the regional manager at the repair shop to address all the issues. He flat out refused my requests and stated that I could bring my vehicle to him yo look at the windshield placement. No way!! He could not give me a name of the repair shop tech who said it had nothing to do with Safelite, said his tech was off that day and probably wouldn't remember who he spoke to anyway because he sees hundreds of people.

I followed up with their corporate office, which I had to try 3 different numbers before finding a good working number. The rep called and spoke to this manager who apparently got with his supervisor and the tech that was off. They now had a name which I followed up with at my dealership/repair shop. When I called my service manager he verified that he never even spoke to their tech and would have had no knowledge of the condition of m vehicle because he hadnt even looked at it. At this point I am still having to play a middleman role on the he said, she said game. I feel that this is incredibly ridiculous, frustrating and irritating! I have ridden around with a growing rat, when it finally died it was about a foot long with tail, had the rain and car wash saturate my carpets, and have thousands of dollars of damage caused by the negligence of Safelite's installer. I have basically been called a liar and treated as one, been left without a vehicle for 9 days so far and probably at least another 7, lost time at work and feel like a complete burden on my repair shop.

I believe that this rodent entered through the opening that this tech left, it's just too coincidental that within a week of having the windshield replaced this rat took residence. I do hope that they will do the right thing, although I don't hold my breathe. They have literally left me holding the Rat and I still have a windshield that was not installed properly. I don't believe I will ever use Geico's suggested repair companies ever again.
