My father in law, god rest his soul, has passed away. He was not a wealthy man, nor flush with assets, rather quite the opposite, like the other 99%, in debt. He signed a contract for their security system and 3 weeks after the installed it, (2 weeks before x-mas) he passed away. He was not ill, so it was very unexpected.
We have been trying to get them to close the account and terminate the service. They claim he signed a 6 year contract for services. When ever we get in touch with them, to discuss this, the first thing we hear is, "you must pay 90% of the contract before the account will be closed." I have NOT once heard from them any condolances or kindness from them toward us in our time of grief. It's "when are you going to pay us"?
We have sent them a copy of the death certificate and they admit to recieving it, and do speak to us about the account, but will not close it or deactivate the system until they are paid. They continue to harras the widow for payment, for a system she will not use. She does not live in the home, and has not lived in the home for a very long time now.
If this is how you treat the dead and grieving, I wouls hate to see how you treat actual customers.
Dont EVER use this company.TERRIBLE SERVICE Lack of response Taking money from my credit card Not helping me resolve my problem Telling me that my address isnt even recorded taking another business off by mistake all round amateur...
STAY AWAY Pay $10 more elsewhere if you have to. Save yourself a LOT OF STRESS. I called, emailed begged and pleaded. The owners dont care to take calls.
Managers are all just as bad. I called the person who initially installed it he has left.
Then hours later, he called me and said that SAFE HOME SECURITY are calling him !!why not CALL ME
I have been with Safe Home Security for over 4 years now. I initially signed a 3 year contract in which my term expired over a year ago. Last year, Safe Home had called me repeatedly to ask if I would like to renew my contact and I stated that I would not like to renew. Different representatives would call me every day and I strictly told them I do not want another contract. On May 5 2017, I called to cancel service that I would be all set. I saw my credit card get charged after and I called back to figure out what is going on. They told me I need to email a written confirmation letter for cancellation and I did that on 6/8/17. I called on 6/21 to follow up and now they are telling me that I am under contract until January of 2018.
In 2013 I entered into a contract with Point Home Security, which is now Safe Home Security. This company has the worse custormer service reps and the lack professionalism. I'm constantly calling about my alarm system, and it takes weeks, maybe even months, before anyone shows up to do anything about it. I purchased an alarm to keep my family and me safe, but it's not helping if it doesn't work. Right now, there have been an increase in home robberies since the flood in August. I explained to the manager that this was an emergency, that I needed my security system working and I was told it's only an emergency if someone actually breaks in my house. I was dumbfounded. At that point I don't need an alarm, I need the police and that's what I'm trying to avoid. Protecting their customers is not their first priority, but they never miss a month getting my payment. I'm unhappy with this company and I no longer wish to be apart of it. I want out of this contract.
Security Systems, Inc is charging me for terminating a 60 month contract that I never signed. Their service tech claimed the system was transerable and the service itself was transferable, but neither is true. The service tech put a hole in the wall of my residence prior to any signatures being on any contract which makes the system a permanent fixture and not transferable. The contract also was signed by someone other than one of the two homeowners which is against their policy and all work should have been stopped when neither homeowner was even present. The service tech was also aware this residence was a "flip" so it was getting sold withing 2 months of the time the system was installed which would make it completely senseless to sign a 60 month contract for 2 months worth of service. This is when the service tech assured the systems was transferable and the service was too. The new homeowners wanted the service, but the service was not transferable like was promised and the unit itselft had to have a hole punched in the wall for installation which made it a permanent fixture so the unit was not transferable either.
On or around March 17th, 2015 I came upon two men speaking to my grandmother in our front yard. I asked them what they were doing. They stated she had just signed a contract for home security. I explained I am her grandson who is her caregiver and I live with her. I told them we do not need your service for she didnt know what she was signing. She is 90 years old with beginning symptoms of Alzheimers. I asked them to please tear up this contract. They said, "no its to late she already signed it." I was very upset. Later that day the installer came. I told him we do not want this service. He gave me the runaround and installed a monituring system and a smoke alarm system anyway.
As soon as he left I unplugged it. The company called the next day wanting to know what was wrong with the system. I explained I had unplugged it and again told them we do not want it. The very next day the installer came and re-installed it. I unplugged it again. As I was tending to our bills with our online bank acct. I noticed a fee was deducted from this company. I went to the bank and brought it to the managers attention. she cancelled the business from being able to withdraw any more money. I never heard from them again until I recieved a bill on July 10th 2015. I called them. I asked to speak to a manager and left my number and as of today have not heard from them.
This is an absolutely INCOMPETENT business! I have had an account for 7 years and not only had a technician call to tell me he couldn't show up at the last minute, after I had taken vacation to be there. Then a second time, I CALLED to confirm the install. To my surprise (not really), there was no install scheduled.
To add to the insult, they actually talked me into upgrading my contract from 34.95 to 54.95 to have access on my cell. NOTE: NO additional equipment was needed and the tech did NOT perform the upgrade. I had to call a week later to find out why it still did not work, and they did it over the phone.
I was supposed to be waived me for one month. They ALSO did not inform me of my options at the time of the contract, so I was not ever made aware that there was anything but a 5 year contract (very unethical). I was told that this was a 5 year contract period. Then I was billed (of course!) for the first month for 54.95 after being promised a waiver of the first month.
This company does nothing but lie and generate a draft your account for payment. DO NOT sign a contract with this company. I have seen absolutely no proof that they do anything except automatically bill your account. You will not receive phone calls or invoices, and you WILL be automatically renewed at the end of your contract if you do not call them to cancel it (even if you do call). They do absolutely NOTHING to protect you.
It is your responsibility to notify them if your equipment does not work. I'm not positive how you would know that they were not being notified of an alarm. They will not repair your equipment should it not work. You must pay for repair of their property. There is no regular check on their side to determine if equipment is online. That should be a given. So again, what is the bill for???
We cancelled our service with this company after they breached their written & verbal contracts. Now they are reporting on our credit as an unsecured loan/collection account. This reporting has caused us to be denied for financial aid for our daughters 2nd year of college. Since they are stating that we owe the entire length of the contract, 5 years. We paid for the services as long as it was working properly. Which wasn't long, a couple of months.
Student aid does not allow for any unpaid collection account in excess of $2500, regardless if the rest of your credit is spot on.
This is not an unsecured loan. It was an alarm service that did not perform as their contract & sales person stated from inception. The company sales person would not return our calls. We called for 7 months with no response. When contacting the corporate office, then could not even find us in their data base. A complaint was filed with the BBB, to which the company was unresponsive. The final straw was when our alarm went off at 4am. The signal was from my 6 yr olds bedroom window. We did not receive a call from the alarm company on our cell or home phone or thru the alarm control system affixed to the wall, police were not called either. Thank God the issue was just the alarm unit becoming unattached from the window, and not an intruder. The alarm company never made contact with us to inquire as to why the alarm went off. We called them the next afternoon, and requested someone come out to fix the unit. Three weeks later a repair man showed up at our door. We had no idea he was even coming out. No one bothered to call and schedule an appt or give us a call to let us know he was coming. This company has no interest in protecting your family. Stay away from them and any of their sister companies.
