I purchased a used C13 CAT engine with a 6 month warranty. At 12,000 miles the engine thew a connecting rod thru the side of the block. I had to send them a $2000 core deposit before they would send me areplacement engine which I did. When replacement engine came in we could barely turn it. Upon further inspection we found a flywheel bolt did not have a washer on it causing bolt to run into back of block. Informed Steve of this and he said there was no way that could happen becuase they don not ever remove the flywheels.
A day later Steve informs me they have found the washer at the mechanic's work station that preped the engine for shipment. I confront Steve about them never taking the flywheels off and his story changed to sometimes we need them so we take them until engine is sold. We inspected them engine further to see if there was any other damage and found 1 of the cylinder to be gualding up. After 3 weeks of fighting with Steve he finally agreed to pickup the engine and inspect it himself but not before threating me and my mechanic physically and financially. Once Steve received the engine back it was another week of fighting with him and Steve not returning phone calls. After all the fighting and Steve calling me and my mechanic a liar he all of a sudden said he was going to send me another engine. Whenn this engine came in we did a full inspection of engine and installed it.
Over 2 months of being down trying to get engine warrantied. 20,000 miles later this engine spins a rod bearing. I call Steve and inform him fo what has happened and he tells me they only warranty 1 engine. What?!!! 2 engines and 32,000 miles and thats all i get! Engine cost and switching out 2 engines was over $20,000 and down time put it at $40,000 plus and a truck that is still has a bad engine. DO NOT DO business with these con-artist!! They sell junk and DO NOT stand behind thier warranty. On top of all this it took me over 2 months to get my security deposit back (had to threaten legal action before he sent that back)! Steve is a smooth talker that will con you any way he can. Save yourself a lot of money and don,t do business with this bunch. I have also found they conduct business under a couple of different business names in the Pikeville area. Do your research and stay away from them!
