This guy found my ad on Craigslist, for our RV that we had listed for sale. He reached out as RVTrader.com, a very reputible, long-standing, RV online classified website. In fact, he is NOT with RV Trader.
He told me he was with the RV Trader promotional department. I asked him why the advertising cost on "their" website was less than he was quoting me and he responded that I should call him. When I did, he explained that the price on the website included commissions, and his "promotional price" did not. He never once told me HE DID NOT HAVE A WEBSITE. I referred to RV Trader's website often, and he never acknowledged that he did not have a website, or that the one I was looking at, was not his company.
When I finally figured out that I had been scammed, I confronted him and he turned around and gaslighted me, stating that "I was the one who misunderstood". He told me "I knew exactly who I was advertising with". This was totally not true.
The ad itself, is posted on a generic YouTube page, with my own pictures and description, copied directly from my Craigslist ad.
After confronting him, he FRAUDULENTLY charged my credit card a second time.
Be super careful of people posing as reputible companies, when they are just trying to scam you out of your money.
