My first impressions of the store were not good. Bored, bearded young men that barely looked up from their phones when I came in the first time. The second time, they were hanging out in front of the store on vape pens and came inside to answer my phone questions with ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answers and an attitude of boredom, barely tolerating me as an interruption. As a manager myself, I saw an opportunity to affect change.

I interviewed for this company and the interview went well. I was “vastly overqualified” but really looking for a change and love the technology. I liked what she told me of their culture. I texted back and forth with the new Store Manager, Becky, and completed their background check and was looking forward to proceeding to a second interview or start date.

It would take two texts to get a response from Becky, and even after calling the store. Back and forth, she told me I was still a candidate but made multiple excuses and thanked me for my patience.

After almost two months of weekly check-ins from me, she finally gave me the answer that they have filled the positions via transfers but they might overstaff for the holidays. I don’t appreciate being strung along for this long given false hope.

The management of this branch is clearly as unprofessional as their staff. As a Verizon customer, I considered taking my business to another company, but instead I will just avoid Russell Cellular. They will miss out on my upgrade to a new phone, new internet and upgraded accessories, let alone someone who would have made an awesome team member

Stealing your cell number

I went to a Russell cellular store just to see what they had to offer for cell phone service. I took a iPhone 6s to se if it would work with Verizon network. Without my knowledge or approval the sales person removed the SIM card from my phone and inserted a SIM card of Verizon and moved my cell number to Verizon. After I got home and tried to use my cell phone did I find out I did not have cell service with AT&T any longer. This started a nightmare for me trying to get my cell number back to AT&T. This took almost two days of calling and talking to people to get my number back. Russell cellular did not lift a finger to help. I do not recommend using Russell Cellular for anything.

I went to Russell Celluar in Stuttgart, Ark; just to see if I could upgrade my cell phone from a Samsung 5 to the newer verison. Approached by one the Customer service representative, I asked her about the upgrade on my cell phone and what does the upgrade entails.

She got on the computer and looked up my information and offered a few phones, stating that "Oh! you can get a free phone, not mentioning anything about a contract. "Now!" I am excited, a free phone, and all I had to pay is a $51.01 fee.

She went to the back and brought out a samsung galaxy 6 and Samsung Note 5, she apparently had the samsung note and insisted on showing some of its functions. So excited and right away, I insisted on the appealing Note 5.

Now, remind you, I had already told her that I am on a budget, and not in here to spend a lot of money on a phone, so I don't need you to pressure me into buying more data or adding more usage my account.

She told me, you don't have to pay for it, just the fee that I mention, so she started giving me paper work and I am asking "what is this" she said I just need you to sign this agreement its just a contract that you stay with verizon for two years. The Customer service reps name is Krysta O of stuttgart, Ark, she did not explain anything.

" Had she explain to me that this is a two year contract and that you will be liable for paying for a $700 phone for two years and also the free samsung galaxy tab, we will also charge you for using it as well. " And because I should have read it I am stuck with a $700 phone.

This is total manipulation, it bothers me so bad, because I felt like this was fraud, and she didn't care as long as I signed the contract. I understand these folks need to make their quotas and commission, but we are the customers, learn your job and stop trying to get over on hard working citizens.

Because how long do you think you will stay in business doing this, you time haven't come yet. Be honest with people, explain to them what you're doing, no surprises. Because I was definitely surprised when I called to pay my bill.

I didn't know I had 14 days to return it, because I would have and just bought it from the "Real" Verizon. I was a day late. Russell Cellular is a parent company for Verizon. Verizon handles their phones but not its company regulation.

I called Verizon and spoke to a very sweet manager and she helped me out a lot. Thank you Verizon for listening to me and helping me out. Russell Celluar and its sales team, be honest with people. Because customers hate to be laughed at or manipulated by con artist. Never again.

Hello, Yesterday I was discriminated against and wrongfully fired. I have been working for Russcell Cellular for the past 6 months and I absolutely loved the time I was employed with the company.

The incident started when I took 2 aproved paid time off days for a funeral out of state. The DSM of the company was very unhappy and tried to state I lied to him about what family member died or where down the line he was in the family. That is not something I felt I had to mention to him because it was my paid time off I felt I was able to do as I please with it.

The second incident was Black Friday, the biggest sale of the year. I had started to lose my voice 2 days prior but I still came into work. Come black Friday I woke up at 6am with no voice. I Called my store manager as I struggled enough to talk, to try and tell him I will not be able to make it in and I will go to the hospital to retrieve a doctors note. I was diagnosed with laryngitus and told not to go back to work for two days since I needed to rest my vocal cords and my job was to communicate, of which I could not do. My sick days were approved.

My first day back from being sick no one talked to me, it was almost awkward being in their presence. My second day back to work was going great ! I was getting a few sales out, next thing I know the DSM is in the store and has called me to the back. He said that day was my last day working for the company. When I asked reasoning why, he kept repeating 'You just do not fit in with the Russcell Cellular culture". I had to make him look me in the eyes and tell me the real reason I was being fired and ask what was written in my exit paper work, he went on about my attendence and how I missed the two biggest sale days of the year...

I believe I was wrongly fired and I did state that as well. He then went on to say I have had customer complaints. I corrected the DSM and asked for proof, I also asked where my verbal or written warning was regaurding these customer complaints. There was no proof to be found.

Jeff Russell cellular is run by crooks and gangsters. They steal your money by using cheap tricks and con-games. Nathan Workman runs the Cincinnati, Ohio crime branch. Nathan is good at lying to your face to make a sale. He withholds anything from the contract that you would object to. Yes, he simply doesn't show you the real price you are paying for the product and service. Instead he gives you a piece of paper that doesn't have the correct terms of the agreement. I'm sure even Nathan, as stupid as he is, would understand no one in their right mind would willingly pay $200.00 for a peice of crap phone. So. he simply lies to you. This is called fraud. I'm sure Jeff and Kym Russell find Nathan a "team player" because Nathan has ripped off so many people. Any crime will do as long as Nathan and the Russell Cellular freaks are able to line their pockets with your stolen money. Nathan Workman should be arrested and charged with defrauding the public. Theft by deception and ommission of documents is the game he plays. Avoid the Russell Cellular scammers if you want to avoid being ripped off by dirt bags like Nathan Workman and the Russell clan.
