In August 2019 I approached Russ Simpson of Exotic custom Motorsports to do a customization on my 1984 GMC fleet side as a gift for my 17-year-old autistic son . I paid over $14,000 as a deposit towards a purchase of a motor transmission along with $2400 he received to do my bed and hood customization.
Also paid a $1200 payment for shipping purposes from orange county California to Texas. Once he got settled in Texas from what he told me. I sent him another $7000 cash draw to his wife's account in Woodland Texas towards the chassis .
I have received nothing but lies and broken promises along with excuses as to who he has given money to to build custom chassis along with the motor builders. I have reached out to both Scott's Hot Rodz and the motor builders neither have ever received any deposit and have no orders from Russ Simpson . He claimed he had started the process months ago and because of SEMA and other reasons nothing has been delivered.
I had gone through the same type of thing with another company calledJAS customs out of garden grove , California and explained in detail my experiences with them and Russ assured me there were several bad people in this industry and that he would do in amazing job for me especially after my experience with the other company stealing from me.
These companies are ripping off good people who have dreams of sharing a finished product with their families. This industry needs to be watched carefully!
I've given him a total of $24,600 for the purchase of a chassis motor and some small detailed work to this point in time I have not received emails return phone calls or anything since November 4th. The pictures that he has sent on the supposed progress were dated and the parts that he claimed he had purchased for my build did not even pertain to my type of vehicle as I sorted through the pictures.
