My fiance and I went to RT Motors on nellis feb 4th looking for a specific car, a Charger. We finally found one we liked. It was a silver 06 dodge charger. We put $2300 down on the vehicle after waiting around the office for 5 hours just to get approved. We finally get approved and get the car we really wanted.
Literally 3 days later I was picking my sister up from work and as im about to exit off the freeway the oil light comes on the car dies and the steering wheel locks up. Now we are forced to push this 3800 lbs car out of the free way traffic. Its 1:00 am so we call Rt Motors and leave them a message of what happen. The next day 2/8/16 when they return our call they tell us to have the car towed to the service station on flamingo so we do just that cost me $80. Once we arrive we speak to a Robert who is a rude joke. After a long period of his games we demand our money back and that was a no go.
At the time they assumed the engine was seized and Robert told me "bring my wallet" because we will have to pay the remaining balance of a new engine and he gave us a quote of $1100. I told that fool I'm not buying a new engine for a car l only had for 3 days. After another long discussion they said that they would pay for everything and we're fine. But now im without a car, I explain to Robert how I have no transportation to work and my 3 kids needed to be picked up is there any way we can get a loaner? He said they dont do loaners and held a strong argument but that night when my car broke down I saw on their reviews that they had a similar problem with a young lady and they gave her a loaner vehicle.
I had a screenshot of the message and brought it to Roberts attention. He saw I had him against the ropes and decided to now give us a loaner. About 30 minutes later a bright yellow ford escape pulls up with dents all over and a major dent on the quater panel the size of a softball with a larger sticker over it that says OOPS. He says its not much but it will get us around as I get in the car the first thing you see is dirt and trash every where it was so nasty I took pictures. By the way there was no radio and the gas was bone dry but we took the car because we thought our charger would be fixed in a timely fashion.
Weeks go by and we are still in this yellow bucket finally my fiance calls about the charger and he said it was ready so I left work to go pick it up I told my boss I will be back in 20 minutes. I get to Rt motors on flamingo and Robert swore up and down that it was not the engine but just the differential and they have fixed it. I get the keys to my car and I leave the service station. About 3 miles away the oil light came on the car dies and the wheel locks up deja vu I know right?
So I call Rt motors and let them know I am stranded on the side of the road. I sat there for 2 and a half hours till the mechanic could deliver me the yellow bucket and take the car back to the shop. I put my belongings in the ford escape and head back to work. We call them back and they said that they have to order a new engine and it will take a week. We waited this long so we figured whats one more week. Mean while still wanting our money back we have asked for our money back at both locations and all they would say is let us fix the problem and take care of you so we get back to this waiting game.
Days turn to weeks and weeks turn to months. We are constantly calling and Robert is never there either he is out hiking or running errands but he never returns our call. At this point we are fed up but we keep calling and one of his employees Tommy at the nellis office tells us we have to pay more money up front before the car will be fixed. We immediately start making calls to lawyers regarding lemon laws and consumer fraud.
All the while Robert kept telling us to lie to the bank and tell honor financial that we are still driving the car and that we love it, a bunch of bs. Once the bank did call we told them everything. They said that either they should have got us a new vehicle or give us our money back. So we called Rt motors and told them what the bank said. They said that we cant get our money back but he will see if he can give us another car, call back tomorrow and when we call them back the next day he says the same thing for the next 2 days.
This whole time we paid for a charger but we have been driving around this beat up lemon that has been leaking oil all over my garage. March 30 my first day at my second job the loaner vehicle they gave us breaks down on the freeway at 730 a.m. I have to be there by 8 and Rt Motors doesn't open till 9 so I leave the car and head to work.
My fiance kept calling to give them a heads up she finally speaks with someone and they said that will send a tow truck but the tow truck didn't make it there fast enough and the car was towed by another company. My fiance gave them a call to see if they picked up the car and they kept telling her how mad and p****d off Robert was that the car got towed. April 1st After a long debate we decided to go to the nellis office and see whats going on because now we are stuck with no transportation and still out $2380. We spoke with Tommy who then stated we could pick out another vehicle off the lot.
This was before he hit us with the statement, but first the payments to the charger and tow fee for the lemon had to be paid. I told him I have never heard of such b.s. and we proceeded to leave out without further words. Once home, my fiance contacted the Consumer Compliance Dept. at the DMV. She spoke with a lady named Bonnie, who found this whole ordeal to be downright ridiculous.
She stated that we could unwind this whole deal and there was no need to sign another contract because this place is obviously faulty and not right. She has put the necessary paperwork in the mail to be sent to us to file a claim against this janky place. At the end of the day we have all of our conversations with these crooks recorded and pictures. Don't ever go to this place unless you want to lose your car, your money and your time.
