Routes Car Rentals charged me 5x over actual price to repair scratch.
I rented a car from Routes in July (first week of my vacation) the morning of the return someone put a scratch into it. It was too deep for a polish job but only it only touched the primer. I received a quote already before dropping the car off max $300.
I asked to be advised of the cost before they proceed, because I could have gotten it fixed on my second week of vacation or worst case scenario my friend in TO could have had it fixed on my behalf. The agent said don't worrry we will advise you, you will be contacted before anything gets done. This never happened!!!
I sent numerous emails no response. When I sent a registered letter with all info I finally received an email which pretty much just stated it is what it is. They refused to accept any of the quotes that I had provided stating only a Kia Body Shop could do the work BS. I also never received a copy of the actual invoice.
All okay to be accountable for damages to a rental car, but it is completely uncool to overcharge!!!
