On February 25, 2022, car broker Justin from Paramount Auto facilitated a trade-in purchase with Route 46 Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM in Little Falls, NJ. The trade-in was a blue 2019 Dodge Charger for a gray 2021 Dodge Charger. My boyfriend Cliff Robert gave a cash down payment of $5,000 and $5,000 equity was to be used from the value of the blue Charger.
The lease was signed in my boyfriend’s name as owner & I signed as co-signer. That night the cars were swapped out & we were to receive the signed documents no later than the very next day. After a month we still had not received the lease agreement or any other document saying this car was ever ours and had been being ignored for weeks.
We left messages, all three of us including the broker reached out several times a day & we also had the broker send emails. All lanes of communication were blocked and ignored. After calling the bank Chrysler Capital, (which was said to be the funding bank) to see if we could obtain documents from them, they made us aware that there was no 2021 Charger on file.
We urgently began contacting the dealership again even more upset because not only was there not a new car on file, but we were now being penalized for nonpayment of the 2019 Charger in which we no longer had possession of. Our credit scores were drastically hurt by the delinquency of nonpayment and the 3 inquiries ran by this dealership that we have no record of doing business with.
On March 30, 2022, our car was stolen in the city of Union, NJ. At this time, we desperately needed documents of ownership for the police, insurance, investigation, and was still unsuccessful in retrieving documents or speaking to anyone. We weren’t even able to notify them that the car was stolen because they were still ignoring us.
By this time there were 3 hard inquiries on our credit, a delinquency, and no proof of a purchase and now no car. On April 7, 2022, I started to leave reviews online regarding my experience and discovered similar and even worse reviews. I saw they had been sued in 2019 for fraud, scamming & much more. I had also spoke with several individuals who personally dealt with these same issues.
Days later I received a response from Karisa M. on Yelp asking to email Jamie Rusignuolo. I emailed them immediately & advised I wanted to speak to the owner, or I would be pursuing a complaint. Jamie called me to get my side of the story to report to her boss which was the owner, who would not have direct contact.
On that very day April 13, 2022, the dealership had ran our credit AGAIN with an unauthorized hard inquiry for the FOURTH TIME. The car was totaled on April 1, 2022, this is absolutely illegal. She then called back asking exactly what I wanted to resolve this issue. I gave her a list which included the lease agreement, registration, a letter to have all inquiries removed and an At Fault letter to have the delinquency removed.
Chrysler Capital refused to accept anything else in this case. I went to the dealership to pick up these documents the following week advised by Jamie, which had already cost us so much money, time, gas & stress. There were no apologies, no explanations to the questions I asked regarding this deal and no contact with the owner.
As of today April 19, 2022, I am still missing the At Fault letter & the inquires letter for my boyfriend. Jamie claims she needs to get approval from her boss, and I know for a fact this is because he is trying his best not to admit to much fault. I will be retaining a lawyer on this case and pursuing a complaint. It is well known this dealership is KNOWN for fraud and it needs to come to an end.
The car we purchased was never funded & even knowing it was totaled they continued to try and get funding for it. All we want at this point is to have our credit restored and our story to be acknowledged because clearly those in the past have been overlooked. This dealership is doing some very bad things to hardworking people, and it needs to stop once and for all!
