Roots Pressed Juices Reviews

  • Feb 2, 2017

I met with Brent towards the end of 2016, to discuss a Business Development position with him at his juice bar. My first impression was shaky, but assumed he was simply an eccentric business owner. Fast forward to my starting date. I went in, and received absolutely zero formal training. I was handed off to another employee, who had only been there for about 10 weeks, to be trained. No big deal, I'm assuming the owner just has no time today. Or the next day, or the day after...

Near the end of my third week, I began receiving communication that my loved one was not doing well. I spoke with Brent (briefly) about this stress this was causing me, and how I have no been able to do a single thing involving development, because he's had me running deliveries, going to Whole Foods and Restaurant Depot, and checking in on certain employees at other locations, etc. His solution was to send me home, and said I could begin working on development from home.

Monday morning my loved one passed. In an effort to distract myself from the current events, I began working on ad concepts. I put together (4) advertising campaigns that revolve around Time, Love, Pain, and Pleasure. Presented them to him, and he liked them. I researched ingredients etc. He said to drop the Pleasure campaign, that was it. Fast forward once again. I am having serious difficulty in reaching Mr. Rodgers. and ultimately ask if I'm still employed (jokingly).

He said he'd write me an email that evening to discuss. I kept working until receiving that letter... the next day. Not only was I fired because of the "drama" surrounding my loved one's death. I was not paid for ANY of the ad-work I had done. None! I spoke with a friend who referred me to a lawyer, and I'm currently awaiting his decision. I've never had a problem with an employer in my life. Not until Brent Rodgers at Roots Pressed Juices decided to screw me over.
