If you look up "single rooms available in daly city roomorama" google will bring up the listing i am reffering to. The "host" is -
'Shula Aliac McGuire'
I have travelled to different countries around the world, and this was my second visit to san francisco. When I arrived at this accomodation the taxi driver was even worried and asked me multiple times am i sure this is where I am meant to be. Ghetto, run down, graffiti on cars and houses, people shouting the streets. I had valuables and my huge suitcase I was seriously concerned for my safety, which has never happened before while travelling, even in the more darker areas of san francisco. The "host" took over half an hour to come to the door, and he had no clue why I was there and was very confused, not to mention it looked nothing like the photos, which leads me to believe it was a scam- fake listing.
I had to spend four thousand dollars on an emergency hotel which was the cheapest at the time. It was the biggest relief to be in the taxi safe and heading to a hotel in union square- spend the extra money it is worth it!
The "host" made up wild tales and completely lied to the staff after I contacted them saying things such as they offered me a refund (they didnt), and making up strange things about myself which werent true. I never got my money back, and my reviews keep getting deleted warning others of this scam.
Who knows what other reviews from other travellers have been deleted from any listing on roomorama- its scary to think!
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID Roomorama...ESPECIALLY this listing that I mentioned.
