I was hired a few weeks ago by David Snow of Ronin Risk International. He is supposed to be the director of Southwest Operations.
Well I sensed a problem when the guy was working out of a Kinkos in order to conduct interviews. I said well what the heck maybe its some new lean business technique.
The problem started for me when after 2 weeks of work we did not recieve our paychecks the following Friday. The payroll ended on January 30, 2005 and after I complained the guy paid us on February 9, 2005, via Fed-Ex, some 9 days after the close of payroll. He apologized and said it was because of the Mardi Gras holidays and fron now on we would receive a check every other Monday.
By the way I am in Louisiana and they are doing business here in Baton Rouge.
Finally the payroll ended on February 13 for the weeks of Jan. 31st to Feb 13th. We expected our checks on the 21st of February to no avail. I contacted my Supervisor, who is one of the employees and asked where were the checks. He said Mr. Snow contacted him and said we would be paid February 28th.
Now I am not the smartest person in the world. However I have never worked for a Company that pays bi-weekly or closes its pay periods bi-weekly and pays a person some 17 days after the books close. Essentially one is working an entire month and only receiving 2 weeks of pay.
Needless to say I quit and contacted the Freight company where we provide security, Mr. Snow, Michael Petty the CEO of Ronin and had to threaten them with a legal suit in order to recieve my money.
Well they promised I would receive it on the 25 of Feb.
