Ron Holland has sunk to a new low by using his 20 year old son Antonio "Tony" Holland as a front for his illegal contracting business. He registered the business name "Ace Concrete Specialist" under his son's name to avoid failing a background check when advertising on Thumbtack. Ace Concrete RR is a legitimate, city licensed business who's name Ron used in order to give the appearance of being licensed with the city. In our initial discussions we were told that he accepted credit cards, yet on the day of the pour we were told he could only accept cash or check, which should have been a major red flag. After discussing the need to obtain a driveway permit, he illegally poured concrete on the city right of way without any form of structural reinforcement such as rebar or wire mesh. He strung us along for a couple of weeks after claiming he was in the process of obtaining a permit and would tear up and replace the offending portions of the driveway if necessary.
After contacting the city and discovering that no attempt had been made on his part to obtain a permit he stopped responding to our calls and emails. Within 2 weeks after pouring the driveway it had already begun to crack in 5 different locations and needs to be removed completely. He has previously used his wife's name Kimberly Cline in such scams and is now using his son Antonio which I find completely dispicable. Beware of dealing with this man as he is likely to repeat this scam again under a different name and business identity.
