These people are scam/con artists. They do clean outs of elderly peoples homes and take all the valuables and auction them off and their not even liscenced Auctioneers. They have been involved in numerous court cases and need to be stopped. They prey on people in their time of grieving or when they are to old to make sound decisions. The net upwards or $20,000 auctioning said valuable items off after charging unbenounced elderly people to "clean" out their homes. They then take valuable items and illegally auction them off to the public. This company must he stopped and it is advised that anyone dealing with said company stop immediately. They will take everything from Grandmas engagement ring to antique books. They are preying on the weak in their time of need. A company such as this is not only acting unethically they are acting fraudulently. DO NOT CONDUCT BUSINESS WITH ROME COUNTY AUCTIONS. Be forewarned
Henry and suzanne leathers of rome country auctions are definitely con artists. They have repeatedly been arrested and charged for negotiating a worthless instrument writing checks with zero funds in their account). I have witnessed henry conduct several illegal activities during the course of his auctions, from performing as the auctioneer which a convicted criminal is not allowed to do) to lying about the condition and make of an item refused to allow a staff member to a return an item purchased after it was claimed to be ll bean and actually made in china). This is not an inclusive list and i could go on for hours. Henry and suzanne constantly yell at customers and their own staff, treating them as sub-human, when in fact they are worthless burdens on society. Check out their mug shots online. The smug smirk on suzanne's face shows she does not care about conducting a legit business, in fact she appears proud. Do yourself a favor and skip rca auctions and stop allowing these criminals off the hook. If they ripped you off, press charges. Hold them accountable.

BEWARE SCAM ARTISTS!! Should be shut down from doing auctions. Henry and Suzanne Leathers are well known by law enforcement. Henry Leathers is a shill bidder.
I put my truck in the auction on May 31 2019 to be auctioned off on June 2 2019. Henry Leathers informed me he already had bids exceeding my reserve on a phone bid. I was present at the auction and it appears Mr. Leathers was the only bidder at my reserve price of 5500.00. I was not informed at the time that he was shill bidding on my truck. When I went inside to talk to Suzanne Leathers she told me the truck sold for 5500.00 and I was sent out to get the title ( being a 1989 no title is needed in Maine) I asked when I should get my money and she said by Thursday again never informed me the truck did not sell or I would have taken it home that night.
I waited until Thursday to see if the check was in the mail and no it was not so I called the phone number that I had and Suzanne answered. I asked her if her husband removed my plates and she said I think so here he is.
I talked to Henry Leathers and he then and only then informed me that the truck did not sell and that he had his bidding number on it to try to boost bids, he took it home to his house then proceeded to give me the wrong address to get the truck back. I had to get the police involved to find it. I sould have been informed that night or even the next day that it did not sell. He drove my truck after being told that no one could drive it as it was no longer insured. He did not call Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday. I had to call and was lied to.
They both have extensive complaints and or arrests for this exact reason.
Con Artist
These people would steal from their own children. They are felons and should not be allowed to own an auctioning business. They are illegal as can be and have hurt so many elderly people. They cleaned out a lady's home while she was in an extended stay at a nursing home. Her Granddaughter has had to chase them around and by the time of the court fees, lawyers and so on and you then can't get blood out of a turnip so is said They somehow always escape from going to prison.
