Its with great sadness that I write this review but this company is a essentially a fraud that needs to be stopped and is operating in real a haphazard way. Customer Service is completley lacking.
I ordered 4 window films from these guys, sending all the pictures, measurements etc to ensure a delivery. They told me the order coudl not be rushed as these films were precisely and carefully cut. Order arrrive .. and disaster ensued.
1. Transformer was missing --- i told them, they said they included it and i was lying and accused me of trying to rip them off. WHAT A JOKE. calls me a week later and is like oh we forgot to put it on the customs form so customs removed it (no apology for their incomptenece)
2. One Film was broken
3. Two Films were TOO LARGE --- so we had to cut oursleves
4. Two other films had the electrode on the WRONG side vs. what they had specified originally (my contractor was cool and could rooll with it)
They did replace the original products but they were again busted. I know have all 4 films instaleld and they are horrible, one turns back off automatically because of a busted transofrmer they sent (so now i have to open the walls again). The films themsleves are uneven and very poor quality. Ive had 3 different contractors come in and look at these products and they all agree this is low end garbage.
Now the company is refusing to send any replacment and their go to move is to BLAME ME and my onctracotrs, for not installing properly (we did), not inspecitng the packages we received properly (we did). Cherry on top is the customer service guy i was speaking to, email doesnt evne work now.
So i'm out a few k for this products, and thousands more in contractor fees ... and i now have to pay to rip out this cheap product. The company has offered a half refund ... not accpetable ... if they come to their sense (i have some slight hope of this) .. i will be sure to update this review and let everyone know i expect a full refund.
We contacted Roller Trol to purchase wireless window openers for windows that are very high-up in a greatroom. We provided a detailed description of our windows, including the fact that the sills were 12' from the floor.
The representative suggested we purchase $495 worth of product, indicating that the product would - remotely and wirelessly - open the windows in our new home. We purchased the suggested products. Roller Trol sent the products to the wrong address, but we eventually received them. Naively, we trusted the company's recommendations and left the purchased items in the unopened box until our contractor could install them, which was several months later.
When we opened the box, we found that the units had short cords and required a plug-in. Our contractor and electrician both examined the product and the literature on the product. They said the Roller Trol units could not be installed without tearing up our new walls and hard-wiring the units. This would cost us at least $1,000, not including the repairs to the walls.
We contacted Roller Trol to see whether we could exchange the products for a truly wireless system or receive a refund. We did not receive a straight answer about whether there was a truly wireless unit, which is what we thought we had purchased. Despite the fact that the product was untouched and had never been used, the company flatly refused a refund, stating that we had waited too long. The representative suggested we install the units by running wires up our walls. We did not want visilble wires running 12' up the interior or exterior walls of our new house.
Roller Trol then blamed us for obtaining the wrong units, stating that we should have asked more sophisitciated questions about battery voltage, etc. When we observed that we had relied upon their expertise, Roller Trol continued to refuse to give us either a satsifactory replacement or refund.
In our opinion, we received terrible customer service from the beginiing (when they misadvised us, caused us to purchase hundreds of dollars of product that we could not reasonably use, and sent them to the wrong address) to the end (when they refused to give us a viable replacment or refund and then blamed us for the problems).
