Rogero & Williams Roofing Contractors, Inc. Reviews

  • Aug 21, 2017

An unsolicited door to door salesman came to my home offering to give me an estimate for supposed roof damage from a storm that happened almost 6 months ago. I thought this was dubious but I agreed to let them get up on my roof. I signed a paper that I thought was giving my permission for them to view my roof and give me an estimate. I was told nothing about their company, their materials or anything else about their workmanship or anything else about how any work was to be completed. Weeks went by and I didn't hear from them. I sent them emails that werent answered and they kept making excuses for why they weren't coming out. My insurance adjuster came out and approved the work and recommended I get some more estimate. I did so and went ahead and hired another company due to lack of response from Rogero Williams and their obvious lack of customer service. After I left them a message, they finally showed up and interrupted the work of the mu contractor saying it couldn't proceed because I had signed a binding contract for them to perform all work on my property. They began threatening both me and my contractor if we proceeded with the work. I requested they leave my property. They disregarded this request. I was pulling out of my driveway when they showed up a few hours later. When I rolled down my window, they grasped the window so I couldn't lower it and refused to move out of the way. The only left my property when I said I would call the police. They continued to threaten me with legal action if I allowed anyone else to do the work. I contacted my insurance company who informed me that I could get whoever I wanted to do the work. I contacted my lawyer who said that they were engaging in deceptive trade practices. The supposed contract says "proposal" at the top. It has a place for both homeowners to sign, but only I signed. I was never shown the back of the form. There was a place for me to sign on the back, but I didn't sign that either. This is not a valid contract of any kind and burying critical language in fine print on the back page proves that. This company wants this $17,000 contract and will do any unethical behavior to obtain it. I want to warn other consumer about this company so it won't happen to any other unsuspecting consumer. I consulted an attorney who told me to report them to the BBB and Attorney General.

*Within an hour, they showed up again while I was trying to drive off. When I rolled down the window, they put their hands on the windows so I couldn't roll them back up. They still refused to leave until I told them I would call the police to have them removed from my property. He threatened me with legal action. The form they had me sign listed itself as a proposal at the top. It required the signature of both homeowners, but my husband's signature was never asked for. Also, they informed me that the terms of the contact were on the back page in fine print. I was never informed there was a back page to the form. On the back page of the form is a spot for my signature. I never signed the back of the form as indicated. I was never shown any materials or product or presented any sort of work plan that their company would guarantee the quality of their work. The fine print gives them the right to do the work as they please and releases them from all liability. In other words, they get everything and I get nothing. They get to put a questionable product on my property and I'm left with no consideration to dispute it.*
