Roehl is despicable. They promised to pay for training. They terminated me from the program then they took 1.5 weeks of pay that I earned during paid training. They now claim that I owe them for the trainig cost even though they were the ones that terminated me.
$8000- sign on bonus is a joke. excuses why they cant pay you. they skim your miles anywhere from 8% to 12%. they want you in a postion where you dont have enough money to transition to another job. if you question your pay they put you on hold indefinitely.
Roehl Transport hired me last year after I completed a 10 week CDL course at the tech college as a new student driver. They did not disclose everything I needed to know to make a solid decision weather or not I would want to drive for their company before they had me sign a contract to drive 75,000 miles for them or else I would owe them $3300 dollars for some safety program that involved watching 2 short videos and 20 minutes sitting in a simulator, and the $1500 dollar sign on bonus they advertise to entice new student drivers they call it a bonus and in the contract turn it around and call it both a bonus and an advancement all in the same sentence. The company also did not disclose to me before any signatures that certain employees are issued trucks with 3 cameras in them and a microphone in the cab. All of the males that hired on the same time as me were not issued trucks with cameras in them. I was the only female and was issued a truck with cameras. To me I really really felt gender discrimination and I told them numerous times how I felt about the nondisclosure and about the cameras. One was less than 3 feet from my face and one was set up to view my entire living space less than 9 feet away and they were on 24 hours 7 days nonstop recording my every move. AIR was promised that if I got in the truck and drove it for 60 days with no hard brakes I would be given another truck with no cameras. 51 days passed and I was told that I had complied and had nothing showing that would prevent me from getting the other truck. Told that on Feb 15th a truck would be found for me.
Well the 60 days came and went on the 75th day they said we saw something on video so now you have to do another 180 days under camera surveillance on top of the 90 days I had tolerated being recorded and watched which the stress of me knowing I was being recorded at every minute was such extreme stress it caused my blood pressure to stay elevated and daily headaches and I let them constantly know about the extreme stress I was under driving their semi under cameras. They did not care how I felt and I made it very clear that after researching the companies to drive for, for almost 2 years I could find nothing that said that their company has a few trucks with cameras in them and that if it was disclosed to me I absolutely would have never applied with their company or have signed any driving contract with them!!!!! Friday I told them the stress was endangering my health and that I was no longer driving while being watched and if I was going to continue driving for them they needed to follow through with their promise of giving me a truck with no cameras or if I had to continue driving my truck the cameras were going to be covered so that I could no longer see them. I also let them know numerous times that they would never get me home on time after being out 18 days to get 4 days home time. I always got shorted on my earned home time , up to two days cut short out of 4 days, they also never got me enough loads to fulfill the 2300 or more miles per week that I was promised so you would get tiny paychecks at 31 cpm pay. So beware of Roehl deceitful ways to trap new drivers.
On Friday after making me wait at the terminal in my truck for over 3 hours when I was once again suppose to be going home for my earned home time, I told them to dispatch me with a load headed to my home or fire me because I was sick and tired of being mistreated. They fired me for failure to follow and I could not take all of my personal property with me on the bus they were sending me home on so I had throw my hd tv in the trash and leave behind my pillows, blankets, some clothing, and other personal property. It doesn't end there I got an email last night with my final paycheck info in it and I made over $700 including the reimbursement fees for turning in all of the locks issued to me and after taxes and a $125 credit I used I was to get about $469 in my direct deposit tomorrow but they took every penny of my paycheck from me and showed a $0 amount for my direct deposit. This company thinks that it can do what ever it wants to whomever they want including taking and keeping every penny you earned even if they fire you. But I will stand my ground against this company for all they have put me through. They lie about everything to get you to sign their driving contract.
