Purchased a brand new 2016 Harley Davidson Road Glide from Rock & Roll City Harley Davidson in Cleveland, Ohio on May 26th, 2016. Two days later the bike broke down (clutch issue) in downtown Cleveland Ohio. Had to ride the bike home in first gear, running red lights, and avoiding cars.
I called the dealership the next day (May 29th) but kept getting the voicemail. I personally drove to the dealership to explain to them what happened. They told me due to the holiday they could not pick up the bike until Tuesday May 31st.
On May 31st, the dealeship picked up the bike from my home. On June 1st i got a call from the dealeship saying that the bike was ready for pick up. The technician told me that the bike was low on clutch fluid. I asked them would that effect the bike in any way and they said no. It was an error on our part.
June 2nd, i went to the dealeship to pick up my bike. My salesman asked me if he could test drive it. He rode the bike around the buliding, pulled up and said everything feels fine. I then left the dealership.
June 3rd, rode the bike that evening around 8pm. I drove appoximately on mile away and the the clutch went out again. I called my salesman who told me that Harley does not have tow trucks and i would have to pay the tow. He told me that i would be reimbursed for the tow. ($108.00) I sat and waited for a tow truck for two hours at night time. (very scary).
June 4th, The dealership came to my home again to pick up the bike. Now im getting a little frustrated. On June 7th, they told me the bike was repaired. This time im told that they replaced the entire hydraulic clutch system and that i would not have any other issues.
June 8th, i went to pick up the bike and to speak with the store manager, but was told he was busy with other customers. I then asked my salesman who will reimburse me for my tow. He told me that he would look into it and make sure that i will get a check in that amount.
They rode the bike up front and my salesman took it for a spin around the building to see how it feels. He returned and said everything seems to be ok.
June 10th, around 11pm, i had just left my uncle house. While driving home i noticed when approaching a car, i pulled in the clutch to downshift and stop but the bike kept going. I pulled to the side of the road and said to myself, oh no, not again. I drove at least 4 miles dodging cars and running traffic lights trying to make it home.
Eventually i got stopped at a major intersection and pulled over into a post office parking lot. (I was so heated). i then called a tow truck who charged me $100.00 for the tow to my home. The next day i spoke with my salesman and told him that i have been more than patient and that i wanted a new bike. He told me he woukd tell the store manager.
June 14th, I finally received a call from the store manager about the isssues i have been having. He asked me my thoughts and what he can do to make it better. i told him this was the absolute worst experience i have ever had in my lifetime and that their customer service sucks. I have called to speak with you on many occassions and never got a call back. I want a new bike.
He told me that he would have to contact the store owner about a new bike. He said it may take a few weeks to get me on a new bike. He then mentioned that a new nike may have the same issues and asked me to consider keeping the original bike.
Store Manager Jason Motz then told me that i would be reimbursed for any tows that i paid for. I then told him that if i decided to keep the original bike, if they can take off some money on the purchase and he said he will work something out.
He asked me stop by the store on June 16th so that we can and go over the repair the technicians made to the bike. On the 16th, i stopped by the store as instructed by Jason Motz but was told he was not it in. I told the receptionist that we had a meeting.
My salesman then took me over to the techinicians to explain to me the issue with the bike. The technician told me that the Harley Davidson Manufacturer installed an ( O Ring) the wrong way causing fluid to leak inside the transmission. The technician told me that this would fix the issue.
After making several attempts to call Jason Motz about my tow refunds and money off the bike, he has not to date returned any of my phone calls. I have made at least 10 attempts to get this matter resolved. Do not do business with Rock & Roll City Harley Davidson in Cleveland Ohio. This Dealership give Harley Davidson a bad name.
