Roadside Transportation, LLC. Reviews
There is so much fine print and BS to this contract. If you break down in an area that they don’t cover they will not help you. Avoid paying this contract and find another company. They want to send you a mobile mechanic which could absolutely do nothing for the situation. They have no idea what type of engine you have or anything. A mobile mechanic cannot fix this truck without driving around for several hours looking for parts. They ultimately will not tow you or call you back. Don’t get stuck in this situation and avoid this company
They denied claim saying it MIGHT'VE been a pre existing condition.
Denied roadside service twice
I have membership for two trucks, I have been denied service twice for reasons that can be explained but Roadside employees do not care or listen.
My local driver stopped home for 20 minutes and when he came out of house the truck would not build air past 60 LBS. We called Roadside and they denied because he was at a Residence. The truck was parked on the street but still denied service. I tried to explained to Marco in Dispatch but he kept reciting rule 29 and 30 in hand book. He would not even listen to the reasoning why driver was at home.
Rule 29 Requesting covered service from a residence, dealer or repair facility.
Rule 30 Requesting covered service if the covered vehicle is broken down next to, or adjacent to, a residence, dealer, truck stop with onsite repair facility. (They covered all the bases to deny any service.)
SO.. there are many more rules that they can apply to deny you service.
The other time I was denied service was because I tried to fix an air leak and needed an air governor. I called and asked for a roadside mechanic and to bring an air governor. They denied service because I worked on it??
This company has dozens of complaints all over the internet. I have now found a more reputable company to work with.
Stay away from this company!!!
I am so unhappy with our membership with Roadsidemasters. I have 12 trucks on our membership and I have had nothing but issues with this company. They do not cover anything. THey are strictly "Roadside Assistance" meaning...if you are able to get to a safe place off the road you will not get help.
THey do not work with reliable companies. I a mechanic come out to fix a truck and he did absolutely nothing but hook up a diagnostic machine and tell the driver what was wrong. He had no parts to be able to fix the problem. He charged $411 to do that (which Roadsidematers reimburses $99) then when we call roadsidemasters back for a tow, they tell us "you only get 1 services every 7 days and you just used yours on the mechanic" WHO DID NOTHING FOR US!!
They advertize that they cover Tows (Truck & Trailer) up to 50 miles! Then you find out once you read the agreement that they cover 50 miles or 2 hours depending on how the tow company charges.. to fill you in... every tow company we have dealt with charges by the hour and usually charges you at least 4 hours to tow your truck, at whatever rate they choose. AND ALthry promote truck and trailer towes covered... it stipulates that they will only reimburse toward the truck if they truck and trailer cannot be towed together. (In PA they cannot be towed together).
Roadsidemasters does not have a maximum that these companies they deal with are allowed to charge. SO you are always paying for your tow! THere is no stipulation that if the mechanic cannot help you he should charge you so they can send anyone out and all they have to do is look at the truck, do nothing and take your payment.
In the instance above where the mechanic did nothing for us, except charge us, and we had to get the tow, I complained that I shouldnt be penalized because that mechanic couldnt do his job...he didnt even have tools on his truck to try and do anything! I was then told they (Roadsidemasters) would refund the tow ($1080) minus the $99 that they already refunded. Keep in mind, we already paid the $411-$99 to the mechanic.
I emailed about 3 months laster to find out where my refund check was and they said it havd mailed out the month prior. I told them it was not received and they said they would put a stop pay on it and reissue a new check immediately. Still a month later, no check and no contact from Roadside masters. I called today and was told they made a mistake. There will be no refund...except for 2 hours (of the rediculous 8 hours the tow company charged) and out ot that 2 hour reimbursement ($290) they would deduct the $99 they already reimbursed us on for the mechanics $411.00 bill...leaving us a whole $191.00 they are HAPPY to send us.
I am livid. I have emails stating the check was mailed out months ago and now they are saying they will refund $191.00 our of the $1391.00 we had to spend that day for the companies they sent to us that overcharged us!
We have paid anywhere from $700-$1000 for a roadside tire change when using roadside assistance.
Paid that $411 for a mechanic that did nothing. Paid $1080 for the truck and trialer tow...and the list goes on and is rediculous.
plus several times called for help because a truck wouldnt start when the driver stopped at a truck stop or at a deliver location but Roadsidemasters wouldnt even come out becuase the truck was not on the side of the road...not an emergency situation (WHAT??)
READ THE WHOLS AGREEMENT>>>ALL THE FINE PRINT!
We have found that if we break down we can make a couple phone calls to nearby mechanics and/or tow compaines that cost the same or less then the people Roadsidemasters uses.
This company is a complete waste of money. The first time, they refused to send someone to jump me off after my batteries were dead because i was at home.
The second time, Because a mechanic that i paid for already came and diagnose the truck, they couldn't tow it to a shop.
The 3rd time, They started by saying that i was going to have to have to pay for the overages even though they haven't asking me where i was going to get towed to. By the ned of the conversation, they will not tow it because a shoip was nearby and that i need to manage to get the truck there myself.
What good is a $499 yearly membership if they will not let you use it?
