2 years ago, Rise Broadband told me that if I signed up for a 2 year contract, they would give me unlimited data. For 2 years I have been on an unlimited data plan with them and I have not had data charges.
Recently I saw online that they were offering a package that was the same as mine but $20/month cheaper. So, I called them to switch. At that time I told them that I had been on unlimited data and that I still wanted unlimited data. They told me I was not on unlimited data anymore but that I was on 350 Gb plan since my contract was up and that I had not gone over that amount of data so that package should work fine for me.
I was VERY clear with them that my goal in switching to the new package was to save money every month. I also canceled a phone line to save even more. My bill was supposed to go down to $75/mo.
I just went to pay my bill today and it has gone up to $470/mo because of data usage. I called to ask them to put me back on my old plan and they say they can't. They offered no other packages, ideas or solutions. They didn't seem to care at all that I was going to have to cancel.
I have no choice now but to cancel my internet. My business and life is on the internet but I can't pay $470/mo for it. The only other choice I have where I live is Century Link. I used to have Century Link but their customer service was so bad I switched to Rise Broadband. I don't know what to do now.
My internet download speed dropped below 1 mps October 18,2017. It is Nov.18,2017 and still no better. this occures between 600pm and 1200am. I live in rural Illinios, but only 1 1/2 mile from Rise Broadband tower. I can not get an aswer as to when this might be corrected. But they just were paid for another month. I have been in contact with them 5 times concerning this problem. we have a 15 MPS download contract guaranteed 10 MPS.
Rise Broadband has not delivered anywhere near the promised speeds of 15Mbps. I have have speeds under 5Mbps, and very often speeds so slow that just checking email is impossible. I have dropped connections all the time.
I have contacted them numerous times and have been told that 'the tower is out', or that 'there is a packet saturation issue', or even 'there is some frequency interference'. Never am I given a date of when repairs can be expected.
$75 is a lot of money for a product that doesn't perform. I've filed a claim with the FCC. After reading all of the other complaints which are identical to mine, it makes me think they never could provide the promised speeds.
They've oversold themselves and now don't have the capital to improve their network. I hpoe they have good attorneys.
Your internet service is ridiculous. The worst customer service I have ever experienced!!! Short story: Internet is barely working most of the time and extremely slow now. When it works like its suppose to, it's great. I spend more time rebooting my router and the dish more than I actually use the service. When I call about the extremely slow speed, I get treated poorly. As if your company could care less if I'm a customer or not. I am currently writing as May reviews on as many websites as possible about my experience with your company. I will and have been telling everyone in my area to stay away from your internet service!!! I will be contacting BBB soon and file a complaint. I pay for 20 g speed and I barely get 2 g most nights. Been like this for almost a month and none of you care... Keep treating your customers like you have been and provide the worst internet service can buy, your company will suffer greatly!!! Have a nice day :)
When I signed up in February 2015, ads promised there was no contract, open entry, open exit!
Today 2015-11-29 I was informed that terminating the Digis/Rise service before the "2-year contract expires" will cost a $250.00 fee-- something that was never mentioned as I signed up.
Can anyone help me learn how to file a complaint with regulatory agencies or TV news outlet consumer fraud specialists? We live along the Wasatch front in Utah. If there are any consumer groups that can advise me how to get fair treatment, please let me know how to contact them.
I am speechless before the shameless duplicity of this company. And worse, I am so sorry that I ever recommended this unworthy service to a few close friends!
