My wife and I rented and paid in advance for a car rental, once we showed up we had to leave an additional $1,000 deposit. Then we took videos and pictures of the whole vehicle. I didn't feel comfortable so I called an employee to show him all of the scratches and dents. Then contacted the supervisor and informed her of small damages.
Supervisor Elizabeth said don't worry about the damage we have pictures of it, it's a new car it works just take it. I felt even more uncomfortable so we went inside called the company again and sent more video and pictures to the company because we felt they were shady.
low and behold they are shady the same pictures and video we sent they sent back to us and said we damaged the vehicle so they took an additional $1300 from my account. Just wicked but we are fighting and will go to court if have to.
I booked a car online through Orbitz for May 9th - May 13th at Right Cars in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I paid $121.13 with a DEBIT card for the rental ahead of time online. Itinerary #7431364807347. Confirmation RC0708970. When I went to pick the car up, there was a sign on the desk that stated they only take credit card.
I only had a debit card in possession, but had already PREPAID for the rental. I was instructed to bring the card that I paid online with (debit card). I was refused service and when I asked for a refund at the business, they told me to contact Orbitz. They were very rude. I contacted Orbitz who opened a claim and notified me that Right Car was not issuing a refund to me due to their "policies".
I did not even receive a car from this business. I had to rent through someone else, which put me out of more money. I expect a FULL refund because I was never able to pick up the car. Upon searching online I found many other people were scammed by this sleazy business. Please do what you can to ensure this business doesn't scam anyone else.
Had I know of their bad reputation, I would have never rented from them. I had to take an uber elsewhere, and even the driver told me what a joke that business is. Right Car emailed me and claimed my refund would come from Orbit but that is not the case...Right Car is the one who took my money.
