On January 4, I had major back surgery in Baton Rouge. I made this decision after months of intense pain. Before, at the recommendation of someone I know, I hired Right At Home, a home health agency, to take care of the my post-op needs and the needs of my companion, Rita St. Amant. Rita has dementia. It maybe the worse business decision of my entire life. The following is a list of the few complaints I have against this company.

On the night of January 10th, I was suffering from a severe case of Impaction. Earlier I the morning, I had to call an ambulance to go to the emergency room. That night I was expecting a helper from Right At Home to attend to the needs of my companion, Rita St. Amant. Instead I got a rude, obnoxious, incompetent person who made things a lot worse for me.

Before she came over, a retired surgeon friend, Dr. James Wade, offered to aid me in my emergency Impaction needs. He was greeted by the Right At Home “helper” with uncooperative, rude, insulting behavior. She was a hindrance to my emergency needs. She was in the way and would not remove herself from the chair she was seated in. She ignored my request to get up.

This company was contracted to take care of an elderly patient who was scheduled for major surgery. For several months they worked fine, no complaints and provided the care that they were requested.

Then when the eldelerly patient came out of the operating room, and was in rhabilitation stage, the owner Chris Campbell left a rude and bully'is message stating that they dont do this kind of work (house cleaning). As the patient was disabled and had no capacity to do basic house chores, this was a task that was performed for several months.

They company waited until the patient was entirely disbled and post operative, then came up with an ultimatum to quit in 2 weeks citing work that was not their's to do. Nothing different from pre-operative stage work assignments, except this was not an opportunitic, sadistic excuse to ask for more money as well as change the agreed upon work assignments.

This is our opinion of this rather cruel and heartless abusers of the elderley patients' helplessness. Not only was the manner of their communication extortive, but their ultimateum at a critical healthcare moment when we had no other options was just plain unethical and deeply dissapointing.

Never will we every trust such people to take care of our loved ones and the elderely.

This company has been cheating and stealing from their employees that work for them. they do not follow the regulations stateing in their contract . they keep certain documents they are suppose to give their employees . They try and create chaos so the indivisual can not contact them so they can keep their pay check this is not fair and isn't correct. No one should work and never get paid .when you work you are suppose to pay your employee doesn't matter if the company is private or not it is ran under the new york state law and someone need to take action on a agency that is doing alot of lieing . allowing on immigrants to work for the company is also unacceptable .
