My issue with Richardson's Concrete Effects is twofold. I am placing this complaint on Rip Off report.com because I was unable to resolve the problem in small claims court. I had a beautifully designed slate patio and walkway against the house in my backyard. Some were broken and coming loose. I decided to have the patio and walkway tiles, that were coming loose and broken replaced . I hired Richardson's to replace the slated patio and walkway. Richardson' said the all the tiles needed to be replaced. Richardson was paid a total of $7300.00 to replace 890 feet of patio and walkway.
The work started on 8-10-2011 and completed on 10-10-2011, and within 5 months, after completing the job pieces of texture began to break off. It appeared they just covered the patio and walkway with a mixture that was poor workmanship. That was the first problem with Richardson's.
The second problem was discovered months later. My husband had installed 9 drains in our backyard when we built our home. These drains would move the excess water from the backyard to the street in front of our house. Apparently, when Richardson's finished their concrete work, they washed all the excess concrete and texture into the drains. The concrete hardened in the drains and it was not discovered until the first heavy rain storm 6 months later. which was March 12 to the 18th 2012. The backyard flooded and water began to seep into the enclosed patio at the back of our home. It clearly states on the back of the contract I signed that Richardson's would remove any excess scrape materials upon completion of the job. They did not remove it. They just hosed the left over wet concrete into the drains which destroyed them.
It has now become necessary to hire another company to replace the drains in my backyard and also replace the entire patio and walkway. I have pictures of everything. I have copies of the weather reports stating that is did not rain much until the problem was discovered by me 6 months after completion of the job. There was no way of knowing that there was an issue before that time. I paid Richardson's $7300.00 for a poor quality walkway and destroyed drains. Now I am paying another company to replace that work and replace the drains. I am not happy with Richardson's Concrete Effects and no doubt feel "RIPPED OFF"
