Ryan arrived at my home with another employee and seem very nice and trustworthy, though a little young. He stated he had journeyman experience (false), insurance (false), worked for Home Depot (false) and would beat anybody's price because he had some leftover material. He asked for the material cost up front in cash and said that was standard and that he would not have another opening for a month, but could have it done in a week if I paid any place the order right away. When he came back to measure the windows I was very concerned as both he and his employee we're showing signs of drug use(glassy eyes, very scattered, forgetful, kinda rude), a completely different person than the nice young man I met. After not hearing from him I texted him multiple times and finally got a response that he had cancelled the order because I was bothering him and he had a 90-day return policy. After checking around this is very abnormal and insisting on payment up front is a sure tell sign of a scam. Never got my money and he threatened to call the police for harassment. I called the police to report and found out that I would have to hire an expensive lawyer to get anything done about it. Make sure they are acredited. Please do not fall for this scam and read these tips that I wish I would have and make sure you see the credentials that somebody claims to have: https ://www.homeadvisor.com/r/preventing-home-improvement-fraud/
