Michael Osborne sold us a walk-in freezer that was in bits and pieces and told us that his "guy" would come and install it for $700. We were told his guy would be at our house that following Sunday. Sunday rolled around and no show, no phone call, and wouldn't answer his phone either.
4 days later and many phone calls later, his "guy" Ed Hauenstein, from "Reliable" Rebuilders, shows up without the proper tools and equipment to put it together. He outright asked my husband for a payment of $700 and told us Mike doesn't know what he's talking about and that $700 is what he tells everyone but knows that's not the correct price.
Ed told us to look Michael up because he scams people. We tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and hoped that Ed would do the job. Ed asked us for MORE money because he said he needed to buy parts for us, and that the total job would be $1,400 (wrote down he would install the whole thing, do the electrical, plumbing, and build a "dog house" around the compressor), plus $300 more for a tank of refrigerant.
We wanted the job done and trusted Mike was setting us up with someone good, but Ed took our money and ran. For 2 weeks all Ed did was put up the side walls with everything else a complete mess. My husband had to go out of his way to get to Mike's warehouse to get a part that wasn't dropped off to us in the first place which Ed told us we would be getting days before.
Ed showed up 3 weeks into having this freezer, after many phone calls and frustration, and when he said he would come finish the job, he showed up without his tools. He forgot a drill so I went and got a drill for him and he made an excuse that it wasn't charged enough (it was charging for 4 days and worked perfectly fine).
He asked us for $100 after doing NOTHING that day so he could pay his driver (we found out by the police this man has 16 tickets so he lost his license). Ed then said he would be back the next day first thing in the morning. 3 days later, not picking up our calls, we called Mike to ask what the deal was.
Mike dodged many of our calls and told us that he would help us out, but never took action or followed up with us- just told us he would lean into Ed- but we were still given the run around. Referring someone like Ed, who he d**n well knows would do this, makes him just as guilty.
Telling us the install would be $700 and knowing Ed is a crackhead who rips people off is wrong. Ed showed up for the last time to our house, with the promise of finishing the job, only to drill a single hole and tell us he didn't have a certain part for us so he would have to come back the next day.
2 days later (a total of 4 weeks of being strung along) these thieves have taken our money, wasted our time, and taken advantage of a young family trying to start a business. These people are SICK, with serious issues and you should not trust them.
