Respond riped me off just as they have been doing to other people for years from what I am reading on here. My electric supply contract expired in December 2016 and the rate was $.0755 per KWH. Respond raised my rate to $.1596 in January, then $.18990 in February and March. I tried to change power suppliers on January 15th, 2017 but it didn't happen until March 15, 2017. My over charges for the three bills was $834.86. The increase in electric rates was 152%. I called customer service and the creep told me I had to speak with my broker. I was firm and he finally admitted that Respond was charging me for the electric. I asked again about the high rate and was told it is the variable rate. I asked again how they justified the variable rate and the jerk responded it was their variable rate. This is exactly why the State of PA took them to court.
I was gulable enough to believe the first people that came to my door for alternate electric services well I had a man come to my door again and I told him the last one lied to me and it got me charged a 150 dollar cancellation fee I asked him repeatdly if he was Pa has n electric even pointed to the name on my bill. He said yes and I believed him he said my stuff needed updated. He was from Respond energy and now have a cancelation fee again!. How is this legal? They also sat there n told me what to say on the phone when they connected me and they are supposed to leave before you talk to the representative on the phone.. I have a security camera that points right where we was if I have proof can anything be done?!. They are total lieing crooks and I cant see how it's legal to do to someone. And when I called to complain they said ok we have your complaint?. How do you file a complaint on yourself?! I'm gonna call the public utility commission! And whatever else I should do! They shouldn't be allowed to do that to ppl!
I was lied to on camera i have the video saved , respond power told me they were a non profit organization , they charged me hundreds of dollars for nothing , they provided no electric and lie and say they do even though my electric company says they were the ones supplying my electric no repsond power, they owe me thousands of dollars now and refuse to terminate their services with me i dont know what else to do they will not stop charging me for the electric my electric company supplies not respond power
