A deceptive scam, only option is to contest with credit card company.

reservations.com makes their website and the URL itself appear like you are booking with the hotel directly. As a result, people do not know they are being scammed until after they find out there is a high service fee on their credit card even though it was never made clear when booking. No legit service does that. The only way to really stop these people is to file a credit card dispute, since banks keep track of merchants with high credit card dispute rates!! If you get a charge from them that was never disclosed to you, contact your credit card company so they can keep it documented!! Once a merchant gets so many credit card disputes past a certain point, I think they even get fined for them by the issuer.

Total scam; avoid at all cost

Book through reservations.com and your credit card info is immediately in the hands of Asians who have no business address in the U.S. They intercept your attempts to get on the legitimate hotel website and then, using a phony look-alike page, book the room at a price of 40%-50% higher than the current price, paying no attention to the date you actually want to check in. I'm reporting it as a fraud.

I came across the booking because of the seemingly low rate ($57) and continued to search around to find a better offer. When I could not, I continued the booking which immediately involved entering my credit card information and confirming the booking. Only once the booking was confirmed did it become apparent that there was nearly 50% additional charges and fees booking through this site. Not only that but I was charged in USD which again was not made apparent to me at any point in the booking. Once I got to the hotel, not only did they not have my reservation, but I had to call the 1-800 number and have their call center deal with the hotel manager, a process that took 30 mins. After all was said and done, the rate was more than double what I would have paid if I had just walked in and requested a room. This service is extremely deceptive and far from a good deal. AVOID AT ALL COST

Beware of this company! Do not use for hotel booking as they charge a $14.99 fee regardless even if you cancel! Their fee is also hidden in the taxes, etc. part of your bill. Use hotels.com or deal direct. I used them once and as soon as I realised the fee that was involved, i immediatly called them and canceled the reservation. They refused to refund the fee.

Everything I have read from others complaining about this organization is absolutely correct and much of what I have experienced with reservations.com

I am in the hotel business and I never ever use OTA's or 3rd party sites. I too was tricked onto this site that added a booking fee and price higher than what I could get directly from the Sheraton Station Square Pittsburgh.

After I realized what happened and my credit card was charged, I immediately called to cancel. A company representative said that she would call the hotel and cancel my reservation. It was later confirmed as cancelled by e-mail.

Not done yet...Not only did the $14.99 fee appear on my credit card bill, so did the $249 hotel room charge. I immediately contaced my credit card company and they have these charges currently in dispute.

Forget contacting reservations.com. to clear this up. Their robotic response to my issue was "there is nothing we can do, you have to contact the hotel. The hotel offered me the same advise, only saying I have to contact reservations.com. This is the best reason to avoid booking any hotel rooms through a third party.
