We made a reservation by phone through Reservation Desk to stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton, for 2 bedrooms ensuite with kitchenette. My wife, myself and 3 kids, 2 of them are teenagers, to our surprise, they put us in a one bedroom suite with no kitchen. The Hotel apologized and told us they were fully booked. We were promised a refund for the inconveniences and that we wouldn't be charged at all. We looked for another hotel right away and checked out immediately.
We've been trying to get a refund back since September 1st, we are being pushed all over different websites before we finally found out we accidentally booked through a 3rd party instead of booking directly through the hotel itself which is Embassy Suites. We kept getting disconnected each time we call their 800 number The hotel said Reservation Desk took the money from our account and never paid them since we checked out. Reservation Desk have refused to give us back our refund.
On July 5th 2021, I made a 3 night booking at Hilton La Jolla via reservationdesk.com. While booking, the website displayed message that the booking is fully refundable till July 7th. And my plans were not firm, so I went ahead with the booking being assured that the booking is fully refundable before the July 7th.
Later, I checked my confirmation email, and it had different terms of reservation - it said refundable till July 3rd.
I reported the issue to the customer service, and they acknowledged that their website shows a different message before booking, but they have denied me any refund, not that I am cancelling on July 5th. I want to cancel as my plans are not yet firm.
I have the proofs from the reservationdesk.com website, which says that the booking is refundable till July 7th 2021. I need quick help here pls.
I called to make a reservation for a Hyatt Hotel for a reservation for a book show in Lexington, Ky. I specifically asked for the special rate for the show. The person I spoke to told me he could beat the rate and I made the reservation only to find out TEN minutes later that the event was NOT being held at that hotel. I called back and attempted to cancel the reservation, but was informed that the reservation was non-refundable. I filed a complaint with the site and received the following response:
Hello R Barry Andrews,
Thank you again for contacting us regarding your Hyatt Place Lexington reservation. We have reviewed your inquiry, checked our records, and made a request to the hotel on your behalf to obtain approval for a refund exception. Unfortunately, we have been informed a refund will not be made due to the hotel cancellation policy that was provided at the time of booking. We value you as a customer and we are sorry we did not get you the resolution you desired. If there is anything else that you need, please reply to this email, and we will do everything we can to assist you.
