Renova Flooring Reviews

Beware of Renova Flooring and Patrick Kovacs. They will promise the moon, take your money and then bend you over. In October 2016 I contracted with Renova to purchase and install 2000sqft of wood laminate in my primary residence. The job was completed in a fairly timely matter, but the workmanship was subpar to say the least. First of all, the concrete subfloor wasn't properly floated. So I now have a floor with several large soft spots which is very annoying when walking on. It feels like walking on a water bed or trampoline! The transitions were not glued properly so they are now are popping up. And finally my new baseboards were not caulked as promised leaving large unsightly gaps between the laminate and baseboard. Also, the quarter round trim was not installed in one of the rooms. The installer had an attitude that was less than professional and his workmanship proved it. Secondly, their customer service is non-existent. My phone calls were ignored. When I finally was able to contact the representative (Billy) he would schedule the installer to come out for repairs and then nobody would show. When I called back Patrick, Billy or Gary they would have some lame excuse for not showing up. This group is a bunch of cons....avoid at all costs. To this date the job has never been rectified. I did pay with a credit card and hope to pursue a remedy via that route or through an attorney.

Patrick kovacs Renova flooring) was hired in july 2015 to completely rehab a fix and flip that i had purchased in white settlement, texas.

The job should have been done two months or three months at the most. I provided him a itemized list of the work to be done. We came to a price which seemed resonable. I have done a couple of rehab projects before but not in the state of texas.

His crews were not professional and did not complete the jobs assigned to them. He would not show up at the job site, citing other jobs he was working on. He did not provide a foreman but relied on crews who had little or no supervision. The work was of poor quality. His crews started not showing to complete the projects. Patrick would not answer my calls or texts for days. When he returned my calls he would promise to start work right away. Which of course his crews would not show up.

I have kept his texts as records of his poor response time and excuses. I met to discuss the completion of the house and once again he promised to complete the project. After several months of broken promises and lack of response, i made other decisions to get the project sold.

I was finally able to contact him and told him i had holding costs which i held him directly responsible. I gave him a figure of $3,500.00 which he stated in a text was fair.

Then the excuses started. Patrick wanted to complete the floor as credit towards the $3,500.00 he owed me. I declined based on his previous track record of broken promises. I made him an offer of $2,000.00 to settle this issue and move on. He said i was being unfair and mentioned he had tried to work with me. He stated his attorney would draft a promissiory note for the agreed amount. Needless to say, i am still waiting.

He plays the victim role very well, and does not take responsibility for his actions.

Patrick Kovacs was hired to install carpet and hardwoods. A check for the entire amount of the job was provided upfront in January of 2016. Most of the job was completed in April. The job should have taken no longer than three to five days total. There was more damage to the property than what the job cost. Tile was broken, the entire house had just been painted and we had to go back to every single room and repair baseboard damage or paint the walls.

We specifically discussed putting quarter round in and that was never done. Approximately $600 in materials I had to buy and have installed. He offered me under $30 labor to install around 200 feet of molding/quarter round. Patrick is convinced that I am the person at fault. He has claimed that he has made offers that were reasonable, but I have not received them. I have no less than $6000 of work related damages and items not done

We specifically discussed putting quarter round and that was never done. I was forced to buy approximately $600 in materials to finish the job. He offered me under $30 labor to install around 200 feet of molding/quarter round. Patrick is convinced that I am the person at fault. He has claimed that he has made offers that were reasonable, but I have not received them. He has promised that he would have his attorney draft a settlement agreement and I have not seen anything. I have no less than $6000 of work related damages and items not done in the property and I made an offer of $2500 to settle this and move on.

He had the nerve to say this is my MO to try and rip contractors off. This is my very first vendor in 26 years of doing renovations under my company name that I have reported on any website. I've renovated more than 5000+ properties in 30 years and this individual is convinced he has done nothing wrong. I've sent pictures, sent emails and he has ignored them.

His contractors are not equipped properly to do the job and don't have the right tools. They asked to use my tools.

I recorded every conversation and even once I provided the recordings of the agreements made on the phone and he still thinks I am trying to take advantage. I will add more information about this case soon.
