Renewal by Andersen They took my deposit and would not return it. The came to my home, made a presentation. took my deposit and would not return it. The sales person wrote the order up and took a $3,000 deposit on my credit card. They then denied my refund after three days. They said the three day period on the contract had expired. I had applied for a loan using their bank. They dragged their feet beyond three days. I lost $3,000 deposit.

I purchased 15 windows from this company in January 2020. Until recently, there have been no issues. On 9/23/23, I was in my home on the first floor and heard a crash of glass in one of the bedrooms on the second floor. When I went to investigate, I found that one of the windows fell into the room, hit the radiator and shattered the inside glass of the window. I put the window back up and a few minutes later, the same window fell out again. I called Renewal by Andersen and was told that they would have someone call me back. I reported the incident again and was told that this was not covered by waranty because it was an act of God??? I would think that there is something defective in a locked window that falls into the room. I had to put something over the window to block it from falling into the room again.

Two employees came to tape up the window and also to take a photo of the serial number. I had begun to check all the windows that I had purchased and noticed that another window in a different room did not stay up properly when opened. I brought that to the attention of David and Dennis and was told that there is something wrong with the window and they took a photo of the serial number to give to the company. The next day, Kim called me and told me that I would have to pay for the window and I advised that I thought it would be covered under waranty since I did not do anything to the window and it came out on its own without anyone in the room. She said that she would speak to managment. I then spoke to Randy, who told me that I was responsible to pay for the window, I once again explained how the window broke and he said he would speak to managment. On 10/11/23, I called back since I did not hear from "management" and requested Samuel to send me a copy of the waranty which he did and I still do not understand how this does not fall under the waranty. When I asked Samuel for an email address, he advised me that a "service agent" would call me back, Kimlyn, but she has not called me back and do not have an email address to contact them. On 10/20/23, I called again and spoke without another customer service representative and asked him for a claim number and email address and was told that he could not give me one and that a manager would call me back by 10/23/23. I have not heard back from anyone.

This customer service is awful. I purchased a large amount of windows which were very expensive. The company is not responsive, does not return calls and will not provide an email address. It has been over a month, I have room which has a taped up broken glass window and no date of when this will be repaired as we head into the cold seasons. I would not recommend anyone to purchase anything from them as they are quick to sell you a product but not responsive and not able to back up their products when something goes wrong. No one has taken accountability and every time you call, you speak with a different person. Please save yourself time, money and aggravation and avoid purchasing their windows.

PLUS I INSISTED THE TAX I WAQS BEING CHARGED BE ON THE WORK COMPLETED INVOICE..THE SALESMAN MR. HARTZELL TOLD ME HE WOULD ASK THE MAIN OFFICE TO DO AS I REQUESTED...THE WINDOWS WERE COMPLETED JAN. 20,2015....TODAY AS I WRITE THIS NOTICE IT IS SEPT.10,2016 AND NOT ONLY HAVE THEY(ANDERSEN) PRESENTED ME WITH AN INVOICE DETAILING MY COST FOR THE WINDOWS/LABOR I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH SALES TAX I WAS CHARGED...ON SEPT.21,2015 I CALLED THE SALESMAN AND ASK IF HE WAS GETTING THE WORK COMPLETED INVOICE READY AND I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE BETWEEN ME AND THE COMPANY TO GET IT...I

I purchased windows/installed at a cost of approx. $13,000.00. I repeatedly requested a sales invoicwe showing the cost of the various size windows as well as the labor charged to install them. i also asked to know what my sales tax amount was.

My salesman said he would request the home office to get the invoice for me but never did...I stopped payment on one check for $1500.00 after the last windows were installed and told the salesman i would withhold the $1500.00 until Renewal by Andersen of DFW presented me with a itemized work completed invoice showing all my cost as well as the sales tax they charged.

To date i never received the invoice but have been threatened with a law suite to pay the $1500.00 plus lawyer fees...........I am calling the the Texas State Attorney to ask for help...I will also contact the Texas Sales Tax office and see if this company has the legal right to withhold from me the amount of sales tax I was charged.

In my 75 years I have never seen any company who sells services, parts and labor not wanting or willing to give an invoice detailing sales they make.: much less the tax you are charged.

I sincerely hope my comments are read by the head of RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN DFW and he or she can get this resolved...if not i will be more than willing to let a judge or jury see who is in the right....again, I will pay the amount I hel back but only if I get a detailed invoice of what I asked for plus SHOW THE TAX THEY CHARGED ME.

I had two reps at my house this morning putting together an estimate for one sliding door and two large picture windows (about 4'x8'). The buy it now price was $10K, the tomorrow up to 30 days price was $11K and it got close to $13K after that. Several times they told me there were no pressure tactics involved until they got to the end and gave me that quote. Because they screwed up and missed our first appointment a few days earlier, they made an exception and would allow my wife and I until 7pm tonight to make a decision. I decided to spend that time doing a little online research and came across this complaint among others. I was already a miffed at the "no pressure tactics" and pretty sure that we wouldn't be going with Andersen anyways. This decision was cemented when I read the business reply that flatly denies any kind of "special offer to do business today". The author, Joel Conner is either a complete liar or else he has no idea what his sales teams are doing out there. My advice is to make Andersen the last company you schedule to make a bid so that you'll be armed with alternatives before subjecting yourself to their sales tactics. It's clearly a great product they make, but I suspect they know the pricing is out of whack with local competition. They will smear the reputation of all other companies in the area, but honestly Andersen had more complaints online than the alternate company I was considering (other company has been around over 30 years under the same name... plenty of time for complaints to accumulate). I refuse to believe the sales rep's assertion that every other local window company is a ripoff. I do not know Joel Conner beyond the response posted here, but some of his statement is absolutely false and taints the credibility everything he wrote.
