I can provide a copy of the complaint made to the State LIcensing board and correspondence from the attorney for Southern California Home Improvement Center about the poor quality of work. Some of the issues were the company didn't want to give any information about the uit installed including the serial number and registation. There was an inspector that came out and did a surprise visit from the state checking on fraud issues. The serial number inially given to the state was different from the actual unit that was installed. The workers damaged our ceilings and we had to make them come out and repair them. Old smoke alarms were installed that take batteries. Had to insist that they install the carbon monoxide unit that was in the contract. Only 2 smoke alarms were installed when he contract said one per room.
There was electrical work don by unlicensed people that caused an electrical short in the kitchen. Finally an attorney for the company made them pay for the microwave that blew out and the cost of the repair for electrical.
Now to add insult to the problems already incurred by these companies. The money that was made has disappeared and is not accounted for.
I blame all three programs, businesses, since they are affiliated and take advantage of seniors and those who live in older areas.
