Renegade Trailers Reviews

  • May 6, 2021

Hopefully no one else will get taken advantage of.

How can I put this nicely....

Basically I do not recommend Renegade Trailers/Hard N Fast Sandblasting owned and operated by Monty Fraser in Brownwood.

As of this date, 05/07/2021- He has deleted all pictures of my trailer on his Facebook business page. I guess he can’t take criticism.

I dropped the trailer off March 4th and was told to give him two weeks. I just picked it up May 3rd, after he said it’s done May 1st, and he needs it moved. There is a lot messed up and missing. I asked about missing parts and why stuff wasn’t connected, etcetera. I was given answers like, “oh there’s no hot wire for lights” or kinda no real answer of “oh yea yea yea”, and shoulder shrugs.

I was told that he would tint my new windows which obviously weren’t done. They had over spray on them, he partially cleaned them, and left it for me to do. I am missing lights in my tack room. My back tack wasn’t painted. My wires are loose. I had 3 pins missing. My lug nuts off one wheel were all missing and some were just thrown on to keep my wheel on. I bought new chrome ones.

I didn’t want to pay him but I was tired of my trailer being gone. There’s so much more that did not get done and cruddy weld jobs. I was told that there’s a whole gallon of herculiner on the front half and it appears to be just one layer. There are paint runs (I get it, humidity has been bad, but try to prepare accordingly.) and tape was still on it.

My rubber mat on the wall of the horse area is not fully secured. My horse divider pin is missing. There is no weatherstripping on my tack room door, just remnants of the old stripping.

So far I have spent an extra $50-60 on missing parts. He acted like he wanted to fix somethings but considering he “didn’t have time” yet had my trailer a whole two months... I don’t want him touching my trailer anymore. It’s sad when you pay someone when money is already tight and this is what you get. Oh he painted over my license plate light as well, currently it’s illegal, so I’m gonna have to fix it soon.

There’s a lot that is messed up.... I had good faith but I guess you cant have anything right unless you do it yourself. There is a video that clearly shows my lights not working and he told me oh they were working but clearly they’re not even wired up. Then I got the excuse of no hot wire (which was working when I dropped it off). He seemed like a nice guy and I understand he has to make a living but do stuff right.

He apparently stacks too much work on himself and he clearly has overwhelmed himself. If he would’ve just taken a breath and focused on one thing. If he could get the one thing done fully before starting something else I think he could probably get better work done. I feel like my money was just thrown out of the window and I’m highly disappointed....

I’m sure he is gonna blow up my phone wanting to “make it right”. I’m thinking well he wouldn’t have to if he would’ve done it right in the first place. I really don’t want to talk to him anymore, so please don’t contact me Mr. Fraser if you see this.

A reimbursement of some sort would be great considering I’m having to finish a lot of stuff, but I doubt that’ll happen. I understand he didn’t charge me an awful lot but he didn’t charge me any extra due to the time it was taking him (his words). (He did apparently have some issues with his equipment so I can’t fault him there.) His words are according to his Facebook. TELL IT THE WAY IT IS!!! EVEN IF IT HURTS!!! Well sir, I did not want to blast you, but I do not want anyone else to have to go through what I did. I don’t want anyone else to feel scammed like I do.

On a positive note, he sandblasted it, removed my water tank, patched some holes, replaced the plexiglass on front and back, removed the old hooks, added ones I purchased to be put in, and repainted it, but overall I think he could have done a lot better. Considering he had this trailer for two months.

I did not think I rushed him. I tried to be in good contact with him. I was trying to be reasonable with him. I tried talking to him about the things that were not right and he acted like he was so flustered that he couldn’t have a conversation with me. I think he needs to take a step back, try to not overwhelm himself, and just try to not rush himself. I guess you really can’t trust anyone anymore. I didn’t want to pay or cause a huge stink but I had to save my trailer.
