Relocation Nation Moving and Storage Reviews

  • Jan 4, 2023

On December 23, 2022, I was quoted a price of $1868 to move the items in a 10x10 storage unit in Florida to my home in Halethorpe, MD. I spoke in detail to the salesperson Mike DeLuca (561)486-8680. I explained that the 10x10 was full to capacity and was filled vertically to approximately 6ft or more. January 4, 2023, I received a call from Jordan (561) 337-4727 to confirm the move and contents of the unit. When I repeated that the unit was full, he said it would cost another $2500. I was shocked since I had told the initial salesperson that the unit was full. He explained that although Mike's quote was for a 10x10 storage unit, it covered only 280 cubic feet. At this point, I asked for the return of my deposit, and they denied my request. When I asked to speak to the owner, they said the owner does not talk to customers. Unfortunately, since my $825.23 deposit was made through Zelle, my bank cannot recover the money. As a senior citizen, this type of scam is targeted at those least able to afford the increase in costs.

Wasted considerable time with a company that proved to be careless from beginning to end. Avoid this company if you prefer honesty, clarity and your instructions to be heeded. Half of my items have not been moved and the quote I received was not anywhere need the amount I was billed. At every turn I was met with employees remiss in their duties.

I sent photos to avoid a misunderstanding in what I needed moved, and yet, was directed to mislabel/misidentify items. I sent photos of each item, along with a list, and yet, only half of my items were packed. When I learned they would be unable to take all of the items they had agreed to (and for double the price I was quoted!), I gave instructions about priority, and yet, those were ignored completely.

I called the 1-800 customer service line while the movers were at my home; the call was unanswered and subsequently NEVER returned. I texted my original contact who promised action on Monday, and yet, I was told to call the 1-800 customer service line! The recklessness of the employees continued when they left the gate to my property obviously open!

Feeling frustrated, I reached out to customer service again. I received no response to my request for assistance for several days. The lackluster response I eventually did receive left much to be desired. The response asked ME to provide additional information in order to assist, and yet, when I promptly sent that information to them, it was tossed aside, my time wasted and myself left feeling exasperated.

Save yourself the trouble of being deceived and abused by Relocation Nation Moving and choose another company.

I have multiple serious complaints to report about Relocation Nation Moving and Storage LLC (631 Lucerne Avenue 33, Lake Worth FL, 33460). The first is that we were told we could arrange the pickup in a specific time frame, which was critical for me as I was coordinating many moving pieces. We agreed upon a Friday morning, but the actual carrier (to the best of my understanding Relocation Nation is just a broker) called the day before to say they were coming in the afternoon.

When asked for clarification, our contact at Relocation Nation did not answer the calls. The carrier (R&M Transportation - 3730 N 55th Ave Hollywood, FL 3302) invited us to “read the contract,” where they wrote they could come at their convenience within a 48h window. After this initial miscommunication, we asked for better coordination about the delivery date, as we were having a baby.

The Relocation Nation sales director, Bradley, reached out and said he would put the furniture in storage and reschedule the delivery. He never mentioned anything about additional redelivery or storage fees. Instead, he said he was applying for a credit on our behalf as we ended up paying more than what estimated in the initial quote. We were surprised and frustrated when we found out that his “help” actually cost us extra money.

Not to mention that we never heard back about the credit he referenced in his message. He made decisions involving extra fees on our behalf without asking permission or even disclosing it. Any attempt made to communicate with Bradley or customer service to waive this unexpected extra cost was unproductive and extremely frustrating.
