Worth the read if you want to know the true nature of this shop. . . I was enticed by a Groupon for cheap brake repair from "Reliable Auto Mechanics" 3 yrs ago and have been taking my Jeep there ever since. My Jeep seems to always have the same reoccurring issues - wheel bearings, ball joints, axles, hubs all have been replaced through this shop. Ive spent hours of my time and thousands of my money. On more than one occasion they have billed me and never performed the work. . . I have given them the benefit of the doubt after they provided complimentary brake replacement in good faith. Saturday 12/9 was the final straw. My Jeep wouldn't move after exiting the freeway. (RPMs shot all the way up when the pedal was depressed) My worst fears were realized after I received the diagnostic news. They told me the transmission would need to be rebuilt. . . I was informed they would sub-contract the rebuild to a specialist for $5,000. . . GET REAL!! My Jeep is a 2007 with 120,000 miles on it!! Needless to say I was skeptical. . . I had my vehicle to towed to a transmission shop recommended by my father-in-law. Upon inspection they found that there was NO ISSUE with the transmission whatsoever. The front axle had slipped out of the front diff and caused the problem. . . These guys really tried to pull one over on me after betraying my trust time and time again I'm looking for a truly RELIABLE mechanic.
