Register Tapes Unlimited Reviews

  • Aug 24, 2017

Being a business owner I feel ashamed that I was conned by this company. RTUI Register tapes came into my office and the rep stated, " Out of all the dentists we signed up the one that did the worst still got 9 referrals a month and that still is a good outcome for the cost of the ad." They showed me their promise and I paid over 6000 for the ads.

3 months go by on my yearly contract and I got 0 replies, I complained they told me the ad was wrong and my fault and I told them they designed it.

Another 3 months go by not one customer I ask for a refund they say no and they never promised anything and the rep disappears and the manager is in the picture after I go on facebook and complain on social media.

Another 3 months go by and they told me they will change the ad and I should get replies. GOT ZERO

Another 3 months I dont even approve the ads and not knowing if its even running ZERO CUSTOMERS

On my free 3 months still nothing.

The managers keep saying we will work with you but what is the purpose I want my money back and looking at these ads I am not the only one that got ripped off.

I tried to negotiate just give me half back and they really do not reply. I think there can be a great Class action law suit and not even for the money of the matter not for anyone else to get ripped off I am going to invest into the class action law suit and watch the company stop ripping people off.

It is like a pyramid where the sales agents lie to the people and then they say the contact says the opposite

This company is a complete scam. I hope a lawyer picks up this case as I have all supporting evidence. They created a horrible ad for me for the back of the Fry's receipts. I had to pretty much re design the whole thing that I paid them to design. They sent me a "proof" of the design and it had spelling errors and additional changes that needed to be made. I told them of the changes and (on my recorded business line) they called me and we discussed the changes to which they said they would make and approve the ad for printing. I had been paying for this service for 5 months prior to it launching. Now I am realizing was because they are a scam and want to take your money long before the scam is rolled out. They rolled out the first location (I purchased 3 for roughly $1060/month. Did not receive a single call. Then when they went to roll out the second location, they sent me the proof that still needed the changes I wanted done. I emailed them back quite upset asking why they are sending me the old proof and that I thought the changes I requested were made when I spoke with the designer on the recorded call. I got a call from one of the staff members at this chop shop and they assured me, the changes I requested were made and they were sorry they sent you an old proof (on a recorded line). Okay, two more months pass and the first customer calls with the receipt. I get the receipt from the customer and it is still showing the old proof! Now I have two phone calls recorded to where I was lied to, over $7500 in the hole and I get a call from someone over there. Very rude and pompous fellow. A guy that knows he is doing society a disservice and is scamming hard working people and that is what gets him out of bed in the morning. He suggests on giving me 3 more stores and pushing my payment out 30 days while they fix the ad!

I have all supporting documentation and phone calls and this is a clear cut full refund. Please, any lawyer, pick this up. It is a sure thing for you to get your legal fees from them. If not, I am willing to pay 20% of my total $7500 in the event that it would not be attainable.

Cartvertisin came in to our offices with an advertising proposal to post an ad on shopping carts at the local vons. The contract was signed, a deposit was made and POOF they disappeared.

We have called the sales rep and the company over and over. Once I called and whoever picked up said that they were all "going on break" and for me to call back another time. Everyone else who has picked up transfers me to a voicemail. I leave a voice message and then it is NEVER returned.

If you look at the contract they present you with you will see that they very trickily do not include a start date for advertising which lets them string you along into infinity. It has been over 3 months since we signed the contract and all we have recieved is one simple proof via email and zero advertising. Also check out their BBB profile in Houston where they have a big fat "F" due to the numerous complaints filed against them.

REGISTER TAPES UNLIMITED, R.T.U.I. -National Media, Headquarters, Houston Texas, President Edward Dendsley Dawn Weaver in Maryland Office

REGISTER TAPES UNLIMITED is currently being sued in Greenbelt, Md, Grayson Vs. Register Tapes Unlimited for the following:

REGISTER TAPES UNLIMITED hired employees and called them Independent Contractors and made them report into the office in Columbia every day Mon thru Friday from 8:30 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. and hired "appointment setters" who were not paid any salary, even though having to report actually made them employees.

R.T.U.I. did this to avoid paying taxes on employees as well as to avoid paying minimum wage for this type of job which they currently do because of the impending lawsuit, Grayson Va. Register Tapes Unlimited. This helped them to avoid paying large amounts of employee witholding taxes, which is fraud and a criminal activity and to avoid paying any salary.

In the rare cases where an appointment setter to book an appointment that resulted in a sale, R.T.U.I. did their best to not pay any commission due to the appointment setter and if they pay commission, did so on a reduced amount, not the amount agreed upon and delayed paying any commissions due the sales reps.

There were questionable hiring practices, interview process involved cattle call like process with basically hiring anybody that could fog a mirror.

Even though they say they do a criminal background check on employees and advertisers, this is also a lie. Numerous instances where both employers who were convicted felons were still hired or able to place ads on their tapes.

The feedback from the advertisers was that even though promised, they often did not see a proof of their ad so it was published incorrectly and that it was not always run as per the contract because R.T.U.I. said that the store ran out of tapes, even though it is R.T.U.I.'S legal obligation to make sure that the store doesn't run out of tapes. When advertisers wanted to stop their ads because:

THE ADS ON R.T.U.I.'S tapes do not work Advertisers loose money because the cost of $250.00 per run does not even begin to recoup their cost in terms of new customers brought in.

Part of this is because in addition to the ads not always being run on the tapes, people prefer to use ads delivered to them by Val Pak, Money Mailer, Coupon Clipper, etc. and with Internet, most people are simply download ads from the internet.

BOTTOM LINE - Would be job seekers - Stay away from this company at all costs

ADVERTISERS - Stay away from this company, you will be ripped off and not ever get your money back.

After seperation from Register Tapes Unlimited, Inc Falls Church,Va. it took from 11/08/11 to 12/23/11 to receive my final pay check.I had to make calls to hr, the falls church office, the national manager, the columbia, md. office, payroll, and salespersons. I constantly received a song and a dance! I began to send e-mails documenting our conversations and ultimately advised them of my legal recourse before I received my last pay-check;but,have yet to receive the bonus which is three times as much. This company helps it's bottom line by not paying it's severed employees.
