Regional Moving And Vehicle Transportation Reviews
Feb 5, 2018
On december 28, 2017, i decided to go with bruce from regional moving Or global moving, and after doing lots of research, maybe his name is mark now?) to have my car shipped from montreal to edmonton. That was when i made a terrible decision and went with this “company” for an important shipment. Note to self: never again. Note to everyone else: avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
December 28: bruce tells me that it’ll cost me $1500 to ship my car, door-to-door, and that they take “extra care” of my car. They would have my car fully protected by covering it inside and out. Before anything, i told bruce that i needed my car to be in edmonton on january 11, 2018. He said, “no problem- when do you want it picked up?”. I then repeated that i need my car january 11 in edmonton, so my car could be picked up whenever, just to make sure that it was in edmonton on january 11. I can not even tell you how many times i said i needed my car on january 11!) i was told my car would be picked up on either january 4th or 5th,, which made perfect sense because it is quite a drive from montreal to edmonton. I passed on my credit card number, and was charged a $110 security deposit. I went with this company because i was guaranteed the delivery date to be january 11, when other companies could not guarantee this date. Moreover, bruce was very responsive to my phone calls and texts and i trusted him instantly. Bad decision.
January 4: our driver, ron from ams transportation, calls me to tell me he will be picking up my vehicle the next day. Great news here! except that he tells me to get a tilt-and-load Or a flatbed) because their trucks don’t have lifts. I called bruce, who immediately told me that it’s written in the e-mail. He was right- it was written, in small font, where it is easily missed. The issue is, if you look at their website, http://regionalmoving.com/moving-services.Php under auto transport, the actual image shows an suv being loaded into the truck with a ramp. Why would “the leader in vehicle transportation” not have a tilt-and-load or a ramp on their trucks?! at this point, it was too late for me to do anything, so i arranged myself to get my vehicle loaded into the truck.
January 5: ron, from ams transportation, picks up my vehicle. After loading it in the truck, he has me sign some papers. One of the papers was where the transport company would circle already-damaged areas of my vehicle. Ron told me that he couldn’t inspect my car right now because it was full of snow, but once it would arrive at the warehouse in toronto, it would be done by them. Again, this made sense because they wouldn’t be blamed for any damages that were already there. I signed the papers, and off he went.
January 10: i was supposed to be given a 24-hour notice when my car would be delivered. On january 10th, at 11:30am, i still hadn’t received a notice. I called bruce 3 times, no reply. I texted him, asking when my car would be arriving the next day. 3 hours later, he replies “please note i’m out of the office away on holidays for another week. Please call dispatch directly for all updates.” first of all, truly happy for you that you’re on vacation, but why would i not be informed that you won’t be in the office during the week of my shipment?!?! in tears, i called the dispatcher, bob, from ams. I asked him for an update, where he tells me “oh, your car is right here sitting in the lot in toronto!” i nearly fell to the floor. Toronto??? My car had been sitting in toronto for 5 days, when it was supposed to arrive in edmonton the next day. I told him that bruce told me that it would be in edmonton on january 11. He said, i don’t know why he would have told me that since they only ship out west once a week, and my vehicle missed the shipment the previous week. He then told me my car would be shipped on january 12, for an arrival on january 18 or 19. That’s one week later than expected. Bob the dispatcher apologized numerous times. As you probably guessed, the conversations with bruce ended on this day.
January 11: we arrive in edmonton, and had to rent a car for the week which cost us $300.
January 12: ams calls me for the rest of my payment. Before paying, i told them the situation. They did not seem surprised. I told them that bruce guaranteed my delivery date to be january 11 and they said, “oh bruce. Why does he do this? Why does he make up arrival times when he knows he can’t do it?” that’s when i said, “well, has he done this before?” and they dodged the question completely. I also told them that he is on vacation now, so i couldn’t deal with him, and they said, “he’s not on vacation. He just e-mailed me this morning.” so i asked them to e-mail him asking him to call me. Again, no phone call. I just want compensation for the rental i had to pay. This $1500 shipment turned into an $1800 shipment, and this is the last thing we needed after moving across the country.
January 18: no 24-hour notice from dispatch. I called, no answer, so i left a voicemail for an update on my vehicle. No one called me back after that.
January 19: i received a call at 9am, where the driver says he will be at my house in the next hour. I told him i was supposed to be given 24 hours notice. The driver flat out tells me, “well, no one told me i had to give you 24 hours notice, because no one tells me anything!” ironically, no one had told me anything either since my payment passed. Is this the first shipment they’ve ever done in their lives? I received my vehicle. The ams drivers handed me some papers to sign, where i saw the very familiar damage sheet, without any inspection done on my vehicle for damages endured before the shipping. Thankfully, there was nothing wrong with it, but could you imagine if there was? This is where they get you.
Every day up until now: i’ve called bruce at least 40 times. He has now blocked my number. I keep wondering how ignorant he must feel after answering my phone call when i called from other phones. He did pick up, on january 15, when i called him from another number, and told me he would talk to ams and see what they can both do for me. Ams said it wasn’t their mistake, bruce said it was, and the problem continues to be tossed between both “companies”. Every day since then, i’ve called him time and time again, still no answer.
A note for bruce: i cannot express the amount of disappointment i feel right now. Unfortunately for you, my entire family is coming out here to edmonton in the next few years, and i was basically the trial for car shipping companies. Rest assured, you and regional moving will not be considered. Had i known, i would have gone with a company double your price, but at least they would be human. I’ve already asked you for compensation for the rental, you chose to do nothing to help your customers out. After digging on the internet, there are lots of reviews and complaints about you, and i promise this will be added to the pile. Eventually, you’ll be everywhere on the internet and no one will use your fraudulent company.
In case you’re wondering, here is the definition of fraud:
Fraud: frôd/noun
Wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain
If you ever want to know where you’ll find my reviews, be sure to check yelp, Yscam, and all other social media websites. Since you have so many “wonderful” reviews on your website, where customers can not write them themselves, you should add this one. It’s unfortunate that i have to do all of this, but i’m asking for compensation for the rental i had to get because of your mistake. As a “businessman”, your number one priority should be your customers’ satisfaction. It’s safe to say, i am not satisfied with this service, and i will not refer you to anyone.
