Warning to anyone thinking of using this bogus fraudulent company....Buyer Beware! Nightmare Company!!!

10/15/18 first day of my Horrible Communication ordeal! Fraudulent misleading, bait and switch. Kevin Murphy lied and will not honor verbal or written contracts! My nightmare started in October 2018. Googled moving companies with referral and quotes: think, I found the info on moving.com?

I started receiving a lot of phone calls from various companies. I was interested in a shared load. I found a company and committed and paid partial deposit. Day later, got a call from Kevin Murphy with Region Relocations Tucker Georgia location. I told Kevin, I had the move taken care of. Kevin started to ask me questions about contract, items, total pieces square footage of home and the other companies price.

I fell for his upsale. Immediately, he said that was a bad company, no iccs rights and no d.o.t information. I said, yes they are licensed. Kevin told me he would honor the other contract and beat the other price. Kevin said he was from Chattanooga,Tn and he knew our location and spend time in our area. Kevin got my elderly sick Mom on the phone and did sweet talking to get her business.

Kevin said...you can trust me...I'm a Christian! Red Flag Warning. Kevin said me to cancel my contract with other company. I'm smarter than this...like a dummy, fell for his offer. My Elderly Mother is very ill and has been in and out of hospitals and rehab. I was planning on moving her to California from Tennessee. Mom lives in rural Mountain town.

She has no, wifi, cell connection and has never owned computer or any type of smart phone. I told Kevin, I have no computer to see the contract. 10/16/18 Sent the estimate contract electronically to my my ipad. Kevin said, I had to agree to initial blue box in order to secure the move and I had verbally agreed by landline to check the the box and sign the electronic contract.1st total $494.15 on her Discover card. He said he needed the exact total and photos of all boxes and furniture.

I said, try and get rid of a lot of stuff, before I give you my inventory list. It took me several days and a lot photos of boxes and all furniture and measurements to complete my list. Friday 10/19/18 sent Kevin my entire photos from my ipad with total boxes and total furniture pieces with all measurements. No, way for anyone to contact me or my Mom...only have the landline.

I drove 15 miles to town to use my ipad for internet connection. Later Kevin contacted me on landline to drive back into town to do a verbal authorization for binding moving estimate. On my cell phone Kevin at that time told me, he needed more money for the move with additional deposit. I said...I don't feel comfortable doing verbal authozation over the phone for an additional $889.40? Kevin said, in order to secure the dates...needed to have him, do verbal authorize to my Mother's Discover Card. I agreed to do so. Kevin said, he would send me the binding estimate contract with totals and estimated moving days?

10/26/18 Rest of the nightmare: Kevin told me on my cell phone that company gives 24 hour call before the movers show up! Because this is shared load...we were going to be the last pick up! Kevin told me, dates could be Thursday/Fridauy or it could be Saturday/Sunday at the latest.

Kevin also stated: The cost of the move would be more than we discussed. 3,000 initlal conversation

and then email bid was $5,483.55...Kevin charged my Mom's Discover Card $1,383.55

I was very upset with Kevin saying me had more stuff than he told we had? We were scheduled

for our move asap...and stucked with inflated contract price! Impossible for me do do business with

limit communications on rural mountain town! contract written 7 day out for refund.

October 26 was final Doctors appointment before we left for California. Doctor advised me and my Mother

that she was too sick to travel in automobile for 8 to 10 days on road to California. With her blood clots in both legs and severe heart condition and with her being so frail...it wasn't duable trip at this time. That same day on 10/26/18 in the late afternoon called moving company. Only toll free or regular number. I called and left emergency message to cancel our move. Company doesn't provide you will emergency contact phone number...no company 24 hour cancellation dispatch representative to speak or talk with? I sent email to Kevin 10/27/18 ....9:15 am left another voice mail on Saturday 10/27 and I left another on Sunday 10/28/18

Only available M-Fiday. I called the company 10/29/18 at 9:00 am and spoke with rep by the name Allison.

I was explaining I had reached out to company on Friday late Evening to cancel and no live person or rep to take my call. I left messages all weekend and sent them emergency email on saturday morning 10/27

Allison wouldn't put my call into Kevin...she said at this point, she was the contact person. he writes the order/contracts. She said it was too late to cancel. Only give us a credit for one year for moving service! I said, you don't undwerstand...we don't need your services at this time...my Mother is too ill to move or travel.

She wasn't going going to credit or help us. I said, had you all had a rep or dispatch person 24 hours to take my call...I was within my cancellation time. Again, Kevin kied on the phone with me about not being able to give us and exact day? Because it was shared load and we were the last pick up. Kevin it could take longer Thurday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday...my final email 10/26/18 binding moving estimate only had in pick-up day: Thursday/Friday pick-up date: 11/01/2018-11/02/2018 * Absolutely No Mention of Saturday/Sunday!*

I hung from Allison and phoned Discover to start a Dispute! Discover closed the case in favor of Region Relocation....only had my proof of the 10/27/18 email to prove my cancellation. phone calls don't count...I have no way to prove my calls...left messages and never have spoken with anyone from the company other than Allison on 10/29/18....I tried for months to speak with rep or kevin...no one will return phone calls or return any of my emails! I only had 2 conversations with Kevin Murphy before during and after this entire nightmare.

My Sick Elderly Mom has excelent customer credit. Now this bill from Discover has gone into collections and daily interest is mounting! I've tired everything with Discover...they told me, once a case is closed in favor of the company it can not be re-opend! My Mother never authorzided these charges. I did authorize the fist charge to secure the move for $494.15 ....

Kevin pressured me into verbal authorization from my cell phone to Discover for $889.40 total is $1,383.55

My Mother has gone into deep depression over this Kevin Murphy and this entire nightmare with Regions Relocation!

Atlanta BBB has over 68 horrific complaints aginst this moving company. web is full of negative comments and filed complaints against him...a lot them or worse than our ordeal! 1 rating...not BBB accredited....in addition they're not part of any moving companies affilations. I've contacted Georgia State Attorneys office. file with them and Atlanta BBB and already filed complaint with D.O.T out of Washington DC. I have received my letter by email and they have sent out that letter to Region Reolcation 1800 Montreal Ct. Tucker, Georgia 30084

Pray, someone can help my Mother and Me! Too many fradulent companies today...consumers work hard and want to turst companies...they know, they have the upper hand. Takes so long to contact agencies to made complaint Reports. Georgia State Attorneys Office told me to take them to small claims court.

I will make it my mission to be the biggest thorn in Regions Relocation & Nation Relocation Side!

Run fast

We contracted with them, they never showed after we drove 10 hours to meet them at the pick up location. We paid cash up front which is all they will take..and now we know why. They finally picked us up after a week, we lost a weeks pay and had to pay to stay in a hotel till they finally showed. They try to up charge you, they are not the least bit professional, and it has been al ost two months and they still have not delivered our things. We just hired an attorney and we hope we might get our stuff before the end of the year. Do not use they buyer beware. They do not pick up the phone, they tell you lie after lie, it is never ending

Region Relocation used my recent loss of my husband to there advantage. I was under terrible stress. They used garment Boxes to throw my idems in boxes. Regardless of clothes to pots, throw them in garment boxes. Held my furniture and all items hostage for a Jewish holiday. I could not be at my house every minute to deal with closings. I have witnesses that saw the damage when I got to my final destination. Would not take credit card only Money orders. Changed amount I finnaly owed them. I moved from Senecs sc. To Wheaton il. because I found my husband dead. The Drs. in IL. say I have PTSD. The emotional stress has been unbearable at times. Hope I can get some resolution of this terrible experience. Thank you

Region Relocations Inc. gave my wife a low quote to move a one bedroom size personal item from 131 Ponce Atlanta GA to Brooklyn New York. She paid the upfront, non refundable initiation fee of $198.01 on 12/11/2017. Two truck men and the owner/manager Adam showed up on 12/20/17 has arranged. Adam was loud mouthed on arrival. They wanted to park the truck and asked where they should park. I suggested they park in a large parking lot which belongs to the near by church or on North Avenue but they preferred to park along 131 Ponce Avenue instead. The apartment manager suggested they park along North Avenue like other trucks and put on the truck indicators whist loading the items which are not alot. But Adam insisted they park along 131 Ponce since he measured the distance; and the walk distance is longer, hence I will have to pay him $430 more for the walk distance. They collected 50% of the remaining fee ($740 ) with written agreement for the rest to be paid when the items are delivered in New York.

A City of Atlanta Officer gave them a trick of $1000.00 for parking their unsupervied/unattended truck on the curb on 131 Ponce, Atlanta. Adam called to say that I must paid the $1000 fee for the ticket or else my items will not be delivered until that addditional $1000 is paid. He was loud-mouthed and down right vulgar and included treats " I will call the cops on you, I still have access to your credit card"! I told them to cancel the arrangemnt and refund the $740 (50% of total fee). Adam bluntly refused and one of his men removed the signed contract from my apartment unknowing to me. Up to this day, Region Relocations did not refund my $740 despite many calls to the office.

In summary, I found Regions Relocations, Inc which is also Nation Relocations (diferrent offices but same person answers the phones) to be unprofessional, using low initial quotes to rope customers in, then uses many formulas to ramp up the cost at the time of pick up plus more additional formulas at the time of delivery to ripe off customers. Avoid doing business with Regions Relocations Inc = Nation Relocation.

Highly Recommend

After seeing some of the reviews for this company, I was skeptical about choosing them to move my belongings. When speaking with their office staff the insured me I had nothing to worry about. They help me every step of the way. The movers CJ and Burt handled my items as if they were their own. The even stored my items in their warehouse until I was ready for delivery in Austin, TX. If I learned anything from this experience it is not everyone's experience is the same as another.

Our story is very similar to the report #1356919, 1383731 and 1384461.

I summarize their SOP (standard operation procedure)

give the quote at a low price (quote 1496 USD)

come very late (12 pm)

harass you with a bad word (.... not disclosed here)

force you to sign on the blank form

raise the price in cash

leave something in your old place which they should move

ask more money if you still want your belonging

deliver to you late, lost some items and sent you something not belonging to you.

The people shown is CJ. Again, threatened me if the price did not go up double, I will lose my deposit.

I refused. He told me that his boss changed his mind, so he still can move for me at the same price (1496).

He threatened again if I did not sign all the blank form, I will lose my deposit.

I sign all the forms except the "article list". I told him that we need to check all the items moved to the truck before I sign.

He is very angry about my refuse, so he shouted, and waked up neighbors. I told him I will call the police.

Then he moved some items on the truck and left some items in my old place and ran away without any notice.

CJ's behavior is so weird, I can not understand immediately at that timing.

At the midnight, I google the name "region relocation", and I found this company is very bad.

The next day, I reported the complaint to FMCSA (Federal motor carrier safety administration).

When Region relocation did not know I report to FMCSA, they still want to increase the payment.

Finally, I got my belonging back at the same price on the quote.

I appreciate the reports here, lead me looking for the help from FMCSA.

I think FMCSA could make difference. I hope the other victims could also report their cases to FMCSA.

When the enforcement watch, they will be different.

As least, the law will be improved in the future based on these data.

Region/Nation relocation still have a valid license.

The owner believes what they do is not a crime.

I really respect their expertise on this business model. But it hurts people.

I think a lawsuit is good but slow. To let enforcement joins ASAP could be better.

Please take note. These guys are professional scammers and abusive. They now operate as Region Relocations but were previously Nation Relocations. Research them and you can see a ton of complaints in addition to Region. They were obviously forced out of business or just changed their name because of the reputation they earned.

Here's the scam. 1. Quote a low price and assure delivery on the date you need and get a deposit. 2. Upon loading, they jack up the price because they claim it takes more cubic feet than they estimated (Additional $800). 3. Deliver whenever they feel. In our case it was about a week late. 4. Upon delivery they jack up the last portion of the payment again and hold your goods hostage until you pay. Always in cash or money order. No personal checks or credit cards for which you would have some way to recover. In our case the delivery portion was originally around $400. Then $788 based on their change after loading. And then upon Delivery was raised to $1500. And then because we complained or asked for a receipt, they demanded another $350 in Cash. All told. Estimate was $1600. Total paid was over $3300. This was for a small one bedroom apartment. Things were dirty, damaged, and missing.

A 25 year old girl was faced with dealing with these people.

The demands were abusive and threatening. The police were called twice to address the threatening nature of the Regions delivery person (CJ). His language was inappropriate and at one point claimed he could "kick this girls a*s" and "put her in a body bag" if she did not pay. He demanded additonal fees for "being a *****" and other things. He also threw lighted cigarette butts at her to make his point.

They arrived late by almost 8 hours after the Apartment leasing office was closed. And after all the money was extorted, finally loaded the apartment at approxiamately 1:00 AM. After it was requested to wait until the next morning, they said it would cost another $1000. Goods were damaged and missing.

Nobody provides their last name at Region and there are about 6-10 contact numbers and names. Rarely do they answer the phone and rarely do you get the same person. It seems that 'Adam' is the owner/Manager. 'Jeff' is the sales man we dealt with and 'CJ' is the "delivery man". But there are a few more characters.
