Regina Sirmones works for Childrens Home Society in Sumter County Florida. She is extremely verbally abusive, regularly blatently dishonest, unethical, argumentative, and clearly does not have the childrens best interest at heart. After having Regina Sirmones in our home as a caseworker for our foster children for a period of time and feeling terrified and demoralized, being lied about repeatedly, intermittent and grandiose gestures of kindness, and then more unprovoked verbal assaults, I felt exactly like I a trapped domestic violence victim and of all people, a caseworker was the perpetrator. Regina Sirmones seemed hell bent on destroying our family's morality and would yell and accuse and threaten (in front of the children) until she would see us completely beaten down, and then show grandiose kindness, a repeating cycle. An example of a trigger for Regina Sirmones? I attempted to secure therapy for my foster child (that she clearly needed), and when I asked about pursuing it the *only* response I got was being yelled at over and over and over that the child did not need therapy, while I sat and waited for all her yelling to stop. It was absolutely shocking and I was too scared to ever bring it up again, and no, the child never received even an evaluation or therapy she badly needed. I was just always on eggshells. I did move forward with letting agency staff know and wrote detailed incident reports. As desperately as caseworkers are needed, and as hard as it is for a supervisor to let an employee go and the risks that come with it, at some point it is ethically wrong to stay quiet, or to allow it to coninue. I speak in an effort to prevent another family from going through what we have.
