As Im disputing- STILL charges on my Mastercard from March I noticed 2 rental charges from REDBOX *DVD RENTAL OAKBROOK TER IL. I have not been in Il. nor have I charged on Rebox in about 9 months but here locally. I just wonder how many times this has happened and I never caught it.. Or if its happened to many other out there.

I have called many times to report a kiosk is not working to receive an online rental movie which I had already rented and used promo codes online that were successfully redeemed and replacing the promo codes from Jolly Time Microwave Popcorn boxes. I have spoken to a half dozen customer representatives from the Philippines but they all transferred my calls and put me on hold almost an hour to speak to their supervisors in the Philippines where all the employees worked for Redbox and they confirmed to me they are all outsourcing and told me they have no customer services in the United States.

I confronted to all of them that I am visually-impaired and hearing-impaired, and I use a text telephone. They intentionally hung up on me because they do not want to be recorded nor cooperate with me because they discriminate. I cannot see very well but they rudely told me they can only give me new promo codes over the phone which I have explained to them numerous times I am visually-impaired and hearing-impaired. I have asked them to cooperate according to the ADA Law for Americans with Disabilities Act Law but they do not want to cooperate so they believe they have a right to harass and mock me all they want.

Me and my husband rented a RedBox Movie on Novemeber 25, 2017. We rented a Blu-ray which cost $2.12. We took it back the next day, so it should've only cost us $2.12. We have been charged twice for the movie though. One charge coming in as from "RedBox Oak Brook" and one from "Redbox DVD rental 866-733-2693 IL" one charged to the account on the 25th (when we rented) and one on the 27th, two days after. I'm not to thrilled to see two charges on my account and fear that there will be more. There should not be more than one charge and even though it may seem like a small amount, who knows how many more charges they'll make!

On 28 July I rented 3 videos at Red Box Rental 1 Tower lane st 1200866733. In Austin Tx, The red box video machine listed the charge as $.89 plus tax. I was charged $19.49 total on my bank report. a total of 6.50 each. On the 28 July after returning home, I saw a charge of four dollars and cents. Today that charge was changed to $19.49.

I have rented form RedBox many times and some times, not all the time or even ofter, I get a DVD that puts up a screen that says the media is not supported and gives you a botton to click to fix the issue. The botton redirects you to a driver download that cost $14.00.

My drivers are up to date and I have even downloaded the newest Windows 10 driver at an unreasonable cost. When I contacted RedBox after spending hours on line just trying to reach someone. I was told that the DVD does not require me to download a driver that it must be my player. Then i told them that I tried the DVD in my computer and got the same message and redirect. I told them that I thought it was a scam becasue they were requiring me to pay for and download a driver to watch a DVD I had already paied for. They said the DVD comes form their supplier. They told me that RedBox does not make any money off the download.

However, Red Box rents the DVD from a Red Box Mechine, RedBox get the DVD from Red Boxs slupplier under contract with Red Box, Red Boxs DVD directs the renter to a specific web site for the required download and offers no other options, RedBox does not reinburse the renter for the rental cost when they can not watch the DVD. So till me who is making all the money from the downloaded drivers, Santa.

This is a scamm, the BBB, and Washington Stat Attornies General should investigate this scamm.

To whom it concerns,

I'd like to file a formal complaint against Redbox.

I recently rented DVDs from a location of Redbox

In VA. If I'm guilty of anything I admitted and RedBox customer service confirmed I didn't return the DVDs timely. They were 3 days late.

I expected to pay for the 3 extra days rental but when I received my Bank statement I realized RedBox charged me $40 and $21. For DVDs that were 2 or 3 days late?

At this point I called Redbox and was told that my $0.99 or $1.59 daily rental was actually $8.59/ DVD/ day. The Redbox customer service department then tried to explain this rate but I still don't understand how or why the Redbox billing departmentt can justify such charges.

My complaint -

On the RedBox website and machines there is a posted charge of either $1.59/ DCD or $0.99/ day/ rental and this is what it advertises. Games are different.

The machines and the website does state if you keep the DVD past 9 PM you will be charged another rental period, with a maximum of $40, which too is posted and understandable. According to the customer service department a rental period is from 9 PM to 9M the next day (24 hours).

Redbox is overcharging numerous people with unadvertised rates which maybe illegal?

I would think this is deceptive advertising or false advertising.

Please investigate and respond to this complaint.

I rented 3 movies from Red Box a little over a month ago! I returned the movies the next day like I was supposed to! When I received my paycheck on my card on October 1, 2015 my card was charged 16.32, when I called to dispute the charges I was informed that I had a remaining balance of $7.89 and would receive my refund 5-10 business days after it was collected! I specified to them that my card would not have any funds on it until October 13, 2015. They continuously attempted to remove the remaining balance from my account even after I told them there would be no money there until the specified date! B

y them trying to collect my account was charged a decline fee of $1.25 each time the attempted to collect and they tried 6 times!! When I called to confront them about the situation, the representative put me on hold, telling me he was going to speak with his supervisor! When he came back on the line, I was told the the remaining balance would be canceled out and I would get a refund of $19.20 because of the charges from the late fees and because if the decline fees I was charged from their attempts to collect! I have still not received my refund and when I called back today, October 15, 2015, I was informed that I was given false expectations from the representative and the supervisor that he spoke with! I was told that I still had to pay the remaining balance before I received my refund and was informed that that was all they could do!!
