It really pains me to write this review. I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones. But I feel the moral responsibility to try and protect others from going through what we did.
Last night, Shilo of Red Mountain Ragdolls let us know that our kitten had passed away, just days before we were able to take it home, due to choking on a small piece of food and the CPR not being successful.
Today has been spent talking to many breeders and vets across the US–first trying to find a new breeder and kitten but to also fact check what happened with our original kitten. Every single breeder I spoke with was familiar with Shilo and advised me to stay far away from her and that many have heard many bad things from fellow breeders. They also told me that a kitten choking and dying from that is extremely unlikely.
No accusations here — just simply stating what happened and what I heard from others verbatim.
From the time we originally reached out to her in March up until yesterday, there were a number of things that felt off. She doesn’t allow in-person visits to the cattery and you may only have a consultation via video chat.
When we showed up at our *scheduled and confirmed* appointment time to meet our chosen kitten a month or so later, she seemed surprised to see us at the door and had totally forgotten about our appointment.
We were expecting to be led into the cattery but instead were sanctioned to the front of her house with screaming children and our kitten was brought out to us. With an eye infection!
We weren’t allowed to see any part of the operation.
During our initial consult, she promised that we’d receive regular updates and photos of the kitty— none of which ever came. We had to basically beg for updates. There were times when emails went unanswered for a week.
A number of other buyers backed out over the past couple of weeks too.
Save yourself the time, the heartbreak, and the emotional unrest.
I encountered this woman under a different name on Face Book.
When she saw me as a potential sale she was sweet, nice and helpful.
When I decided to purchase from another breeder she became a angry, mean-spirited, unhelpful individual who was overly judgmental of anyone’s questions or posts.
Today it came to light that she’s closed a previous Cattery due to numerous ethical complaints, re-opened under a new name, and has done the same thing under the new name.
Don’t give this person your money.
Like leopards, she won’t change her spots and will continue to mislead and cheat people.
