I looked up any reports concerning this company to see if others had been abused by this company and decided to offer up my own.
Three years ago, we had Reborn Cabinets come out and take a look at redoing both of our bathrooms at my parents ompany that hawks their goods at a fair. When the salesperson met with my parents I was there in the process. He came off as not being too happy becasue my folks did not want to go on the top tier of remodeling both bathrooms completely. We only wanted a stand up shower and a bathtub/shower redone and with just a new fiberglass enclosure. The previous company had put a coating on both units that began peeling off after two years.
As I said, the salesperson spent more time attempting to get my parents to gut both bathrooms than he did being concerned about what my folks wanted. I finally had to intervene when that was all he wanted to discuss by saying either go with what they would like to do or leave. The salesperson still complained about replacing only two bath units as somehow a waste of his time to travel from Anaheim to Fallbrook Ca.
On two seperate occasions, the initial set up time to demo out one bathroom and replace the unit were called up at the last minute and rescheduled. When they finally showed up they wanted to demo both baths but only replace one unit, tub/shower unit and wait for the other unit to show up. That would leave us with no way to bathe for at least three days to allow the unit to cure. I said no. They demoed the first unit and found out that the tub that was ordered was in the wrong direction. I kid you not, the guy actually wanted to see if we would be okay with him blocking the drain that was in the wrong direction and cutting a hole in the other end. He would shim the tub and said it would drain just fine. I said no. Two weeks went by with no tub. When they finally showed up again, it was still the wrong tub model and the installer went about cutting up some base trim to try and make the tub look sorta like the one we paid for. The same issue was repeated with the shower stall. Reschedule and they installed the pan incorrectly, making it necessary for them to come back and redo it becasue of mold issues. Furthermore, the shower stall was to have a glass door that would swing out and that was offered up as being a total package. Only after the order was made were we told that a third party would have make the door and come out and install it. At least that company did it right and we have not had any problems with the shower door.
Just shy of the 3 years of the tub installation, the main camber that allows the flow of water to the tub and shower failed and we lost all water pressure. All calls to Reborn Cabinets were never returned. We finally had to call not one but two different plumbers to try and repair the unit. The first guy couldn't even get the handle off and the second plumber said that the entire unit had basically fused itself together. Those bills were around 500 bucks.
Here is the kicker. I couldn't get a call back from Reborn to save my life when we had an issue. Sure enough though, they called us up to see if we would like to have any additional work done as we were previous customers. I laid out all of the above to the caller and informed that there would be no way I would allow his company to come over and take out my trash let alone do anywork. He attempted to play the dealing with an angry customer routine by stating that in the three years that we have had the work done at our house, Reborn has made a lot of changes. Changes to what was not forthcoming and would leave anyone to think that not only did they have major problems in the past but they were aware of it and just kept ripping people off. The phone call would only connect when you were making a deal or paying. Anything after that you were sent to voicemail. After al of this and this company has the testicular fortitude to call up and see if they can drum up some more business off those that they already took advantage of. I will say this as being my opinion. My parents are elderly and I would bet money that they try and go back to the well of elderly people to rip them off solely becasue they are elderly. That picture of them as some sort of family based company is propaganda. They are nothing but a front to put substandard, contractors to work and take a hefty cut for doing nothing more than ripping people off. house. The company had a booth at our local county fair and I would now caution anyone doing any business with a company that hawks their goods at a fair.
