I contacted Reborn Cabinets in regards to having a larger bathtub installed in my home. A salesperson came to my home and during our meeting, took me into my bathroom and inspected my bathtub. He asked me what I wanted from my new tub. I specifically informed him that I need a bathtub with more shoulder/elbow room. The salesman measured my tub and told me that it was 28 inches wide inside. And he then told me that he had a tub that would provide me with an additional 6 inches in that area. I agreed to the deal and a contract was signed. I also paid $3,500.00 deposit towards the $6,700.00 total. And on the day of the work I paid the remaining balance. After the new tub was installed it did not appear to have the additional room that we expected. The new tub was only 1 inch bigger than my old tub. Now to make matters worse, a couple weeks later we noticed that the new tub was leaking into our walls and through our downstairs ceiling.
I immediately called a plumber as well as Reborn Cabinets. The independent plumber said that the overflow drain was not properly installed amd that's what caused the leak. Reborn Cabinets tech who came out said the same thing fixed the drain. Reborn Cabinets had someone come fix the damaged drywall and they took two of my tiles so they could match and replace them. Two months went by without a word or response as to when the damage would be fixed. I contacted my Credit Card company and filed a dispute. After their investigation my Credit Card company settled the dispute in my favor and returned my initial payment of $3,500.00. Yesterday, which is the same day the credit card dispute was settled, I received a phone call from a gentleman who introduced himself as the President of Reborn Cabinets. He stated that if I did not give them the money back that they were going to place a lien on my home. Reborn Cabinets used deceitful sales tactics and outright lies to get me to enter into a contract.
